Love these kids

Saturday was Jonah's last basketball game.  He finished the season strong with four baskets.  He loved playing.  I was surprised he liked it so much.  He said, "next I'm going to play baseball, then football, then tennis, then golf, then soccer and then basketball again."  I'm glad he enjoys sports so much.  It is a great outlet for that never ending energy he has.
When I told Caitlyn that her cousins were coming to Jonah's basketball game and then coming over to play she ran over and hugged Jonah and said, "thank you for playing basketball so everyone will come watch."  She was thrilled to spend the day with her cousins.  My mom took all the girls to a gingerbread festival.  We ended up going to a party with some friends so Caitlyn stayed at Amarie's for the evening while we were gone.  She was thrilled, she misses hanging out with Amarie every week now that they are both in school all day. It was a little strange to tell everyone, "Sorry, Caitlyn couldn't make it, she had other plans!"
We had a fun night with great food, great company and some good laughs over white elephant gifts. This is the only picture I have, but it was a fun night! Jonah told me that a girl in pre-school told him that she is falling in love with him.  He said, "Mom everyone loves me, first the girl at the mall and now the girls at pre-school."   I guess some girl at the mall was following him around and wouldn't leave him a lone.  He is such a confident little boy!  He is a cutie though, so I can see while all the ladies like him!
Sunday morning I was determined to get a picture of the kids together.  Wyatt had other plans.  Caitlyn and Jonah were trying to show him how fun it is to get their picture taken.  They are such good sports.
Wyatt would only get in there if he was with Keith.  Turned out very cute!  I love church in December.  I love all the Christmas music and the wonderful spirit that is there.
Wyatt was much more cooperative after church.  I should have listened to Keith when he told me to try later to begin with.
Today Caitlyn's school had a sing-a-long.  It was so fun to go watch her sing.  They sang, "Somewhere in my Memory."  They also did the sign language along with it.  Her teacher minored in ASL so she learns a lot of sign language.  She was so cute up there.
Caitlyn is so excited about Christmas she can hardly stand it.  A while ago she said, "Santa must hate Christmas.  He gives everyone presents and no one gives him a present."  I said, "that is what we can learn from Santa, that it is better to give than to receive."  She said, "OOHHH."  I thought that what I said had really sunk in until she said, "I'm sure Mrs. Claus gives him a present."  Funny girl.  Caitlyn is doing so well in school.  She reads really well and her teacher is really good at finding ways to challenge her.  She was citizen of the month a few months ago and I was talking to her teacher about it.  She said, "I picked Caitlyn because she is such a great student and so sweet."  We are so happy with her teacher.  The other day they had a police officer come in and talk to the kids and he brought a dog so her teacher asked Caitlyn if she wanted to go to the office instead.  I guess Caitlyn ended up playing games with the school counselor and loved it.  Her teacher is so great because she will push Caitlyn when she needs it, but she knows when she just can't handle something.
Wyatt loves to raise his hand.  During dinner Caitlyn and Jonah will try and get him to raise his hand for funny things.  They will say, "who stinks?"  Wyatt will raise his hand and they laugh like it is the funniest thing ever.  He loves to raise his hand to let us know what he wants.  Funny that I got the picture while he was sitting at a desk.  It looks like he is in school!

Low Key

These last few weeks have been pretty low key.  We have just been doing the normal things and getting out here and there.  This is my favorite time of the day.  When Caitlyn is home from school and we all get in our pajamas and I know we don't have to go anywhere the rest of the night!  The kids always have fun playing together after school.
Jonah was excited that he and Wyatt have matching pajamas.  Wyatt and Jonah play pretty well together most of the time. Jonah is actually really good with him.  He gets a little rough sometimes, but he really is a sweet older brother.  Yesterday Caitlyn came home from school in tears because some boy told her that she had a weird smile.  I was talking to her about it and Jonah said, "Mom, should I beat that boy up?"  I love that he wants to stick up for her.  I did not love when Jonah called 911 yesterday.  I put the kids to bed and got in the shower.  When I got out the phone was ringing and they said that they had a hang up call to 911 from this number.  Jonah owned up to it.  Later that night at about 10:20 PM (about three hours after the call), I had just fallen asleep when I heard someone ring the door bell and then pound on the door.  I was terrified.  I looked out the window and saw a cop car so I decided to open the door.  The cop said they had to respond to 911 calls "in case someone was holding a gun to my head."  Very nice, but I'm pretty sure that I would be dead in those three hours.  If I would have been thinking more clearly I would have gone and woke Jonah up and had him apologize to the cop for calling 911, but I was not thinking clearly at the time.
Wyatt had a bit of a rough weekend.  He was acting fine until about half way through Jonah's basketball game on Saturday when he threw up all over the place.  I hate that feeling when you don't even know what to do or where to start cleaning up.  We were in the gym so Keith went and told the front desk.  They sent someone to clean it up.  I felt so bad for her, I offered to clean it up, but she said it was fine she would take care of it.  I was secretly thrilled that I didn't have to clean it up and that it wasn't on my carpet!  He ended up throwing up a few more times that day.  Poor kid.  He never acted like he felt terrible, but his stomach has definitely been having problems.
Catilyn lost another tooth this week.  She is always excited to sign the lost tooth club at school.  Catilyn has never been much of a morning person.  Some mornings are really bad.  I might have discovered a trick though.  Yesterday I felt sick in the morning after a horrible nights sleep.  I went and laid in Caitlyn's bed with her and told her she should just stay home from school so I didn't have to take her.  She shot right up and told me there was nothing wrong with her so she could not stay home from school and I needed to get up so we weren't late for school.  It was pretty funny.  Keith tried the same thing this morning and it worked again.  Whatever works, right?
