Hallee's Dance Recital

Hallee is in a tween combo class and she loves it.  She goes once a week and it is right by our house so it's very convenient.
Last week was her last week of dance before summer and Saturday she had her recital.  They did the recital at UVU and we had to be there for almost nine hours.  Hallee had a good attitude about it, but I complained to anyone who would listen!
After the dress rehearsal Mel came over to the college and did Hallee's hair.  She was a lifesaver, her hair looked so cute.  She dropped Amarie off at our house and picked up some supplies for us when I realized that we weren't going to make it home for lunch.
It was so nice to hang out with Mel while we were waiting for the first show.
Hallee loved her hair.  She told me later that maybe Mel could teach me how to do hair and Tiff could teach me how to paint faces.  Then she paused and said, "What are you good at mom?" Ha!
I told Hallee that I'm good at taking lots of pictures!
Hallee ate her lunch and then she went back stage and hung out with her class.  She brought a book, a notebook and fidgets to play with throughout the day.
She looks like a teenager!
She had a big group there watching her.  Grandma, grandpa, Tiff, Tessa, Mel, Amaire, Caitlyn, me, Keith and Wyatt.  She was thrilled that everyone was there to see her dance.  Jonah had to work so he couldn't come.  We weren't able to get a group picture because Hallee was backstage and didn't get to come out after the first show.
She was in two dances.
She did great in both of them.  They were both really cute.
At the end of the show they had all of the performers come out on stage and dance around while they played a slideshow of all of their pictures.  Hallee was having so much fun up there.  She loves to perform.
The performances ended up being almost two hours and she had to do it twice. She loved performing, but I think she got tired of the waiting around.  She did great in both shows!
After Hallee finished her second show we met up with Mel, Amarie, Caitlyn and Tiff for dinner.  Hallee had been snacking all day and she wasn't hungry so Keith came and picked her up.  She was ready to be home after her long day!

Breakin performance and battle

Wyatt had his performance last weekend.  He was in two shows, one for his tricking class and one for his breakin crew class.
Tiff, Tessa and Damon came to the tricking show.
Grandma and grandpa were there for both shows and Kyle and Paige came and watched his dance performance.  He loves having people there to support him.  He did awesome.  His class is so fun to watch.
On Friday I took Eddie and Wyatt to a battle in Salt Lake.
It was supposed to be outside, but it rained on and off that day so they moved it inside.
It was a big crowd in a small studio.  Wyatt and Eddie did the 2V2 battle.  They both did great and they made it to the second round. Mel met me there and watched, it was so fun to have her there.  We were laughing because it was in South Salt Lake off 2100 S and State Street (ghetto) and we felt like we were at a club, you know a typical Friday night for us, Ha!
Here is Wyatt and Eddie with their teacher, Tarzan.

Happenings

A couple of weeks ago Keith and Wyatt went on a campout with the young men.  Wyatt said camping was fun, but hiking wasn't.  Keith said they had fun playing games that night and making smores.
While they were gone Hallee and I had a fun night.  We got Cafe Rio for dinner and then watched Princess Diaries together.
I feel like someone has been home sick so much this school year! Last time it was Wyatt's turn. He came home from school early one day and stayed home the next day.  We watched the original Karate Kid together, that was fun.
Wyatt missed his evening orchestra performance since he was home sick that day.  They did the performance again for the school on Friday and he was able to go to that one.  Keith and I went and watched.
He did great and he is thrilled that 7 AM orchestra is over!
Wyatt made a cool art project at school.
Hallee has been working hard getting ready for kids business day at school.  Her and Trinity are selling rainbow loom bracelets and rings.  She made a poster and they made a commercial to show the 4th grade classes.  Hallee is so excited for all the fun things they are doing this last week of school.
Wyatt read the Michael Vey series and now he is reading Wings of Fire.  He loves to read when he has a good book.  I know it's good if he brings it with him in the car.
Wyatt walked home from church and this is what he looked like when he got inside. I love it!
Hallee wanted to make sure we all read the sign she left in the kitchen.  It says, "To whoever is reading this, I really want you to know that you're a poopy butt."  We are very classy around here!
Friday night I took Wyatt to a break dancing battle so Keith and Hallee had a fun date night.  They went to Panda for dinner, got ice cream and then came home and watched a movie.
Caitlyn is always hanging out with her friends from work.  Bella pierced Caitlyn and Ashlyn's ears.  I'm so glad she has made so many good friends at work.
Amarie came down for Hallee's dance recital on Saturday.  Caitlyn took the day off so they could hang out.  She was thrilled to take Amarie to her favorite places here in Provo.
Wyatt was showing me how strong he is yesterday.
Wyatt has been wanting to make a stationary bike and he finally figured out how to make it work with an old bike that we had in the shed.  I love his mechanical mind!
Yesterday the temperature was perfect.  It was so nice to sit out on the deck and watch Hallee and Wyatt play.
Caitlyn looked so cute holding Jackson like a baby while she swept the kitchen floor.  Wyatt said, "you look like a mom."
Caitlyn showed us her presentation that she did on Jack Sparrow for Psychology.  She has a big crush on him so she was excited to find pictures of him and diagnose him!
She had Amarie take her picture with the Johnny Depp poster in the mall.  She's found her true love.
Kyle had Jonah, Oliver, Maddox and Jett over for an all-nighter Saturday night.  They set up five TVs so they could all play fortnite together.  Erin sent us some pictures.  They have a detached garage where the boys could play video games and be loud and not keep everyone up.
They all finally fell asleep, but it doesn't sound like it was for very long.  Jonah came home Sunday morning and showered and got ready for church.  He promised he wouldn't be grumpy and he wasn't.

Mother's Day

Caitlyn took me out the day before Mother's day for my gift.  She is so thoughtful and generous.
We went to a crepe place that Caitlyn loves.  It was so good!
After that she had appointments for us at a nail salon. I got a pedicure and she was going to get a manicure, but we waited forever and by the time I was finished she hadn't even started so she said never mind.  This is how Caitlyn felt about the service there.  It was so sweet of Caitlyn to give me such a thoughtful gift, she said she wanted to do something where we could spend time together.
Keith and the kids made a big breakfast after church (because we have 9 AM church).  They gave me nice gifts and wrote me sweet cards.  It's nice to feel appreciated.  I hope my kids know how much I love being a mom.  I have always wanted to be a mom and I'm so grateful that I get to be.  I'm so grateful I have been able to be home with the kids and not miss out on anything.
We went to my parents that night for dessert and games.  It was fun to play games and visit.  I'm so grateful for my mom, she is the best!

Track

Jonah just finished up his first High School track season.  He did awesome and had a lot of fun.
Spring sports in Utah are so unpredictable.  Not only did it change from meet to meet, but sometimes the weather would change dramatically during the meet.
Luckily it only snowed during one track meet this season!  It was so cold and wet.
Jonah loved doing track with Kyle.  He had other friends on the team and they had a lot of fun together on the bus and at the track meets.
The track meets are so long, so having friends to hang out with is so important!
Track is such a great sport because you get to interact with people and there is a competitive nature to it, but your biggest competitor is yourself.  You push yourself to beat your own times, so it's really easy to cheer each other on.
Jonah usually ran the 100 M, 200 M and the 4X100.  He was the the 3rd runner in the 4X100 and always did a great job of catching his team up to the other teams.
Jonah pushed himself and learned a lot this season.  He improved all of his times and was happy about that.  I'm so grateful that I was able to go to most of his meets.  I really enjoy them.  I take a book and read while I wait for his events and I love watching him race.
