Christmas Eve has always been my favorite day of the year. My family has great traditions on this day that I just love. We started with a lazy morning, which was nice. Wyatt looked adorable in his Christmas pajamas that Jonah used to wear.
Caitlyn and Jonah were begging to open a present since the second they woke up that morning. They know they always get a new pair of pajamas and they wanted to open them now! We gave in. Wyatt is really into hugging right now. When he opened his new pair of pajamas he gave them a hug. So sweet! Poor Wyatt has been sick a lot lately. A few days before Christmas he was up all night screaming. He finally slept from 4:30 to 7:00 AM. I took him into the doctor the next day and they said he had a bad ear infection. A few days after Christmas he did the same thing, so I took him back to the doctor and they said the ear infection didn't clear up. Now he has a new cold, a fever and he still has the ear infection. Poor kid. He has cost us a small fortune in co-pays.
After Wyatt's nap we headed over to Keith's parents to celebrate with his family. They kids acted out the nativity. We ate good food, visited and opened some presents.
Then we headed over to my parents for more food and fun. The kids acted out the nativity again.
Caitlyn was excited to be Mary. She thought it was so funny to put the baby in her robe so she could be pregnant before she delivered, "her first born son." I love this picture because it shows what a fun sense of humor Caitlyn has. She loves to laugh and she loves to make other people laugh.
Caitlyn and Jonah sang a song last year and they wanted to do it again this year. This time they sang "Scripture Power." They did a great job.
Caitlyn also wanted to sing and sign "Somewhere in my memory" that she had preformed at school. She really wanted to do it and then she got nervous. I asked her if she really wanted to sing and she said yes, so I gave her the push she needed to go up and do it. She was really proud of herself. She loves to perform for people, which she definitely did not get from me.
After all of that we went upstairs for Christmas Bingo. The kids were so excited they were all yelling and screaming over each other. Grandma is great and keeps the kids in the kitchen while Grandpa plays with the adults in the dining room. The kids love to run in and show us what prizes they have won.
Next is the grab box. Caitlyn was telling Jonah a few days before. "It is so fun we get to stick our hands in a box and then we all get a new book." They were both very excited with their new books. Keith and I were very excited with our Cafe Rio gift cards!
Wyatt and Rockwell had their own grab box. Neither one of them wanted to stop playing to open their books. Jonah finally convinced Wyatt to open his.
Wyatt and Rockwell like to stay clear of the madness and play in the toy room. They were so cute giving each other knuckles.
We ended the night with Grandpa reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'. It was a fun night. It is a little crazy to fit in two family parties, but so far it is working. We went home and I was surprised that the kids fell asleep pretty quickly.
