I made it through my surgery. It really wasn't too bad. The first few days were pretty painful, but I'm feeling better each day. The incisions are in really awkward places so it makes sitting up and holding a baby really hard. I have one incision in my belly button and three other incisions around the middle of my chest and by my ribs. The first couple of days it hurt to do anything except lay flat on my back. It has been really hard not being able to hold Hallee. I can feed her if she lays next to me in bed and she likes to lay and play so we have been spending a lot of time like this.
She likes to give me kisses! The surgery took most of the day on Friday. Caitlyn, Jonah and Wyatt were sick so I wasn't excited about leaving them or taking them somewhere to be babysat. I told Keith to just stay home with them instead of go with me, but he didn't like that idea. We finally decided to have Keith's mom come to our house and stay with the older three and my mom took Hallee. By some miracle Hallee has stayed healthy. We are really grateful for the help. I was glad to have Keith there with me. We left at 8:30 AM and were home about 4:00 PM. I felt pretty good that day, it was that night when the pain started.
I love the look on Hallee's face here. She is not a fan of Keith's facial hair! Keith has been great at running the house and making sure I get plenty of rest. I have been so tired so I have been taking a lot of naps. I feel guilty sleeping away while Keith is taking care of all the kids.
Keith told me last night that it has been fun taking care of Hallee. I usually hog her so Keith was happy to have this time with her.
She hasn't been sleeping well during the day and sometimes she sounds a little stuffy, but it never turns into anything. I'm so grateful she has avoided all the sickness going through our house.
Christmas break just seems like a blur. It went by so fast and between the kids being sick and my surgery, I really don't feel like we even had a break. It was nice to have them home, but I think we were all ready for school to start today.
Hallee loves the jump-a-roo. She laughs and smiles while she jumps up and down.
I like how she is sticking her tongue out in this one. My mom came over this morning to help me with the kids. It was so nice to have her help. I'm feeling good, but I get tired really easy. Caitlyn and Jonah have been helping me and Keith has been amazing. I am so grateful for all of the help.
Hallee gets so excited whenever anyone sings, "Jungle Love." Jonah loves to sing it for her and see her laugh and jump up and down.
We all love to see Hallee smile. It has been nice to stay home for the last few days. Keith did the laundry yesterday and they were almost all pajamas. It has been nice being home together and doing a lot of relaxing. Especially for me since Keith has been doing all the hard work!
