Halloween Parties

Keith took the day off on Halloween so I could help with the kid's parties.  Their parties were at the same time so my mom was nice enough to take the two little ones so we could both go in and help.  Caitlyn and Jonah wanted Keith to help, but one of them had to get stuck with me!  Caitlyn said, "I want you too mom, it's just dad is so funny."  I love that Keith can be goofy with the kids and make them laugh.
I went in first thing in the morning and helped in Jonah's class before his party.  I have to brag about him a little.  They were taking spelling tests and there are a few different spelling groups and Jonah is in his own group and he is yet to miss a word on his spelling tests.  I was talking to one of the moms and she asked me who my son was and I told her and she said, "oh, the really smart one."  The other day while they were at recess a boy was crying because someone teased him.  Jonah went over to him and asked him if he was okay and then invited him to play four square with him and his friends.  He even gave up his square so the boy could get right in and play. Love this boy! Okay, I'm done bragging, for now!
Jonah loved having us in his class.  He kept running over and giving us hugs.  It was so sweet because Jonah really isn't a hugger.
He had a fun party.  He made masks, painted a bat, decorated a bag, frosted cookies and went trick-or-treating.  It was crazy because they had both French classes together, so there were over 60 kids.
Keith left Jonah's party to go help in Caitlyn's party.  I snuck out of Jonah's party a couple of minutes early to get a few pictures of Caitlyn's party.  I came just in time to see her eat a donut off a string. When I came in, Mrs. Weske had to tell me that all the kids were saying, "Caitlyn L.'s dad is so funny." He played Bingo with the kids and had them all laughing.
She was having a great time.  I ran into the school psychologist while I was at the school and he was commenting on what a difference there is between Caitlyn this year and last year.  I totally agree and couldn't be more grateful.  Last year was such a rough year for her.  She was constantly paralyzed by anxiety.  It is so great to look back and see how far she has come.  This year I am having more of a problem getting her to care!  She keeps missing a lot of questions on her assignments and tests and when we go over them she knows the answers.  She is so easily distracted and it is driving me crazy.  I talked to her teacher about it and she said she noticed it too so she moved her away from one of her friends during math.  Hopefully that will help.
When I told Caitlyn about my conversation with Dr. Prasad she said, "mom I still have anxiety all the time I just learned how to deal with it."  That completely shocked me.  I had no idea she was still struggling with it.  I don't think it is as bad as it was last year, but obviously she learned some good coping skills.  I sure love this girl!
After the parties, Keith went and picked up Hallee and Wyatt and I stayed at the school.  Jonah begged me to eat lunch with him.  It was fun to eat with him even though he didn't have much to say.  It is so different with him and Caitlyn.  I have to work so hard to get Jonah to talk to me and Caitlyn talks my ear off.  After lunch I went and helped in Caitlyn's class for the rest of the day.  It was a lot of fun to be with them, but it was a long day.  I have a lot of respect for the teachers who do it every day!

Cute pics! I know, I always say the same thing on here! Fun to see what you do and I totally get jealous that our cousins don't like to get together like you guys do. Wish our family here was more like yours.
