What a game! Jonah's team had their championship game tonight! It was a single elimination tournament so they had to win three in a row to win the championship. Jonah got sick last night so we were worried that he wouldn't be able to play today. I kept him home from school today to make sure he was okay. Luckily, he got the flu just like Cailtyn, he threw up once and was fine right after. He ate normal today and felt fine so we let him play.
I could tell Jonah was nervous before the game. He wanted this win so bad.
We made sure we were there really early so he had plenty of time to warm up.
The game was so intense. The game was neck and neck right up until the last few minutes. Jonah had a great game, probably one of his best. Every time his team fell behind Jonah would make a basket to keep them in the game.
He worked so hard on his defense and rebounds. I loved seeing him give it his all. He was so proud of himself. I love that Jonah didn't focus on how many points he had, but instead he talked about how he got in on every play and worked hard for rebounds. We are really trying to focus on the effort instead of the result.
The crowd was really into the game, everyone was on the edge of their seat because it was such a close game. In the last minute we pulled ahead by three and then Kyle hit another shot to seal the deal. I love seeing all the boys' big smiles as they walked off the court.
The champions got medals and shirts! The coach said something nice about each boy as they passed out their stuff. I love his coaches. They were so positive with the boys and they taught them so much.
This team worked so hard. It was so fun to see their improvement. All of the boys were so excited! It was like they were a different team for the second half of the season.
Jonah loved playing with Kyle. They were so excited that they were on the same team.
Jonah worked so hard this season. He worked so hard at practice, listened to everything his coaches had to say and practiced a lot on his own. I'm so glad that his hard work paid off and he that he feels proud of his hard work. It was great to end the season on such a high. Way to go Jonah.

I agree! Way to go Jonah!!! How wonderful that he worked so hard and was working toward just being in there doing what needed to be done and not just on how many points he could get! That's great that your focus isn't on points. Good job mom and dad!
