Caitlyn had a band concert last week. I was quite impressed with how much they have improved since Christmas.
The concert was at Provo High. The middle school and High School played as well. They all played one song together at the end.
It was a great concert. Caitlyn loves playing the flute. She is sounding really good. It is fun to see the progress she is making.
A few months ago Provo School District put together an honors choir. The music director at each school chose a few students from their school to participate. Mr. Mckinney chose Caitlyn. Caitlyn was very excited and enjoyed the extra choir time. She already goes to choir twice a week before school. The honors choir practiced every Friday afternoon for the last couple of months. This is the first year that they have had an honors choir, they said last night that they have wanted one for fifteen years.
Last night was their performance. I love that Caitlyn smiles for me when she can see me holding up my camera in the audience. Before the concert I was a little disappointed that all of their songs were folk music. Caitlyn had recordings that she had to listen to and memorize and they weren't my favorite songs. They are really tough songs and I didn't think it would showcase the kids' voices. I was wrong, the choir sounded amazing and I really enjoyed the songs. They were very tough songs, but the kids sounded great! They worked really hard and it showed.
Caitlyn loves any chance she gets to sing. She has a beautiful voice and she has learned a lot in choir. The Provo school district puts a big emphasis on their music program and that has been great for Caitlyn. She has had a lot of opportunities that she wouldn't have had in her old school.
Caitlyn was excited that my parents and Tiff came to the concert. I really appreciated it too.
Caitlyn loves her aunts! I think one of her favorite things about babysitting for Tiff is talking to Tiff during the car ride!
Caitlyn has always been close to my parents, extended family is so important to Caitlyn.
Apparently Hallee and Wyatt have to pose when we take pictures now. We are sure proud of Caitlyn and her hard work.

Caitlyn is such a talented and beautiful girl and added on top of that is her sweetness! She is amazing and I love her so much! I sure loved being at her choir concert and watching some of the band concert on Keith's phone. I am amazed at the talent of our grandchildren! I sure love them all. You parents are doing so well at helping raising them and giving them opportunities!
