Life Lately

Caitlyn got student of the day at school.  Her art teacher nominated her.  Her teachers all love her and have great things to say about her at parent-teacher conference.  Caitlyn has really stepped up this year and has done a great job of working hard and staying on top of all of her classes.  I'm really proud of her and I'm glad that she got recognized for it.
I love checking on Hallee at night, she always looks so sweet.
My grandma turned 90-years-old this week.  I'm really sad that I haven't seen her for so long, but I'm also glad that my memories of her will be of her happy and healthy.  Alzheimer's is such a crumby disease.
My mom got to be there with all of her siblings for her birthday.  I'm glad they could all be together.  I know it isn't easy for them to see their mom deteriorate.
Jonah's class needed chaperones for a field trip.  I was able to make it work so I volunteered.  Jonah's face captures how he felt about me being on his field trip.  He didn't want me taking pictures, I guess I'm starting to embarrass him, that makes me sad.
We went to an art exhibit at BYU.  We learned about the artist and then saw his pieces.  I did manage to get him to let me take one picture.  Right after I took this picture a security guard came over and told me I wasn't allowed to take pictures, Jonah got a kick out of that!  I am glad I got to go spend some time with my boy, even if he wasn't!
Keith picked Hallee up from school and took her to lunch before he dropped her off at Tiff's.  Tiff was nice enough to keep Hallee for a while so I could go on the field trip.  Hallee loved the special time with dad.
Jonah had fun with the scouts at the aquarium.
We got to go to a free preview of "Trek."  It was not what I was expecting, but pretty good.  The kids all liked it.  Hallee got a little bored and didn't like the kissing parts.  It was great to get a night at the movies for free.
On Friday I took Hallee swimming after school.  Usually it is empty during the day, but for some reason it was packed.  Hallee said, "I have a watering can and I'm not afraid to use it."  She cracks me up!
We had fun playing together. It is nice to be able to focus on just one child.  She loved it because I got to watch every thing she did.  I can't believe how quickly this school year is going, I've got to soak up my time with her while I still have it.
Amarie got to spend the day with us while Mel was at the boys track meet in Orem. Caitlyn was in heaven.  They wanted to be dropped off at the mall, I guess that seems about right for their age.  They had a great time together.  I love to hear them laugh together.
