Yaquina Bay State Park

Last year we went to Yaquina Bay State Park and we really liked it so we were excited that everyone else wanted to go see it this time.  It was so cold and windy, like miserable windy!  We have been so lucky with weather on our other trips, I never remember it being this windy.
The kids were great sports about taking off their jackets for a picture.  Poor EJ was freezing. The lighthouse tours book out early so we weren't able to go inside, one of these times I would like to do that.
We went inside the museum for a while and enjoyed a break from the cold wind.
Elena and Caitlyn had a lot of fun with the dress up.
Cute girls!
It was really foggy that day so we couldn't get a picture to capture how beautiful it is there.
I wish I could see Lindy more often.  I love talking with her.
You can tell how windy it was by Caitlyn's hair.
I loved looking over and seeing Caitlyn and my mom walking arm in arm! Caitlyn sure loves her grandma.
It was so cold and windy that we almost skipped the tide pools.  Gary said it probably wouldn't be as windy down by the water and he was right, it was so much better down there, so I'm really glad we went.
Wyatt liked poking the sea anemones and watching them close up.
Hallee had a paper with pictures of the animals we might see and she loved spotting them.
The beach is covered with these rocks so it was really tricky to walk in our flip flops.  Gary and Julie call it tennis ball beach and that is a good description because the rocks are the size of tennis balls.
I also have the very best sisters-in-law.  I'm so glad they are some of my best friends (cheesy, but true!)
I wish I could just take a chair and a book and sit and listen to the sounds of the ocean all day.  I don't think I would ever get tired of the ocean.
Hallee loves to pose and tell me to take pictures of her.
Hallee was tired of walking so Lindy gave her a piggy back.  Hallee has no idea how good she has it.
We walked back with Julie and Lindy.  I loved having some time to visit with them.

Such a fun day despite the cold and wind! I love the picture of Caitlyn and I too!
