Well it is official, Jonah is twelve-years-old! Jonah has always seemed like he should be older than he is so it never seems weird when he turns a year older.
The kids were so excited to give Jonah his presents. Hallee and Wyatt bought Jonah a white board.
Jonah loves wintergreen mints! He was thrilled when he opened a huge bag of them.
Caitlyn knew that would be the perfect present for him.
It gets harder every year to come up with ideas for Jonah. He didn't know what he wanted and I wasn't sure either. I knew I couldn't go wrong with some basketball cards.
He also loved his new back pack and target game. Since he didn't ask for anything he was surprised by everything. I think he was happy with his gifts, especially because he wasn't expecting much after the Jazz game.
Jonah and Wyatt had a soccer game on Saturday. Keith was coaching Wyatt so I took Jonah to his game. Angie was so sweet and sent Ceciley to get donuts for the whole team to celebrate Jonah's birthday. After the game she took them over and everyone started singing to him. Jonah looked so confused and finally figured out that they were singing to him and that the donuts were for him. He didn't think anyone knew it was his birthday.
His coach told everyone to dog pile on Jonah.
I was a little worried because Jonah looked like he was in pain when they all started getting off. It was so sweet of Angie to do that, it made Jonah feel loved!
My cute soccer boys! Jonah had a fantastic game. His team won 3-1. He had some great plays. His foot work is really improving and so are his long range shots. He is also doing a great job of crossing to the middle and setting up great plays for his team.
After the games Jonah went out to play with his friends. I picked up Kyle and he came over to do laundry during conference. It was nice to visit with him while I made dinner. He joined us for Jonah's dinner of choice, waffles with whipped cream and strawberries.
He sure is a handsome guy!
Jonah doesn't like a lot of treats. He does have a few that he really likes and chocolate shakes are one of them. Later that night I made chocolate shakes for everyone. He invited his friends that he was playing with over for shakes.
Later that night he told me that he was surprised they were so good, he thought homemade shakes would be disgusting! He sure was sweet to act excited for them. Jonah stayed up late with me and Keith Friday and Saturday night. We had fun talking and watching some shows together. I'm sure proud of the awesome young man Jonah is becoming. I still need to take his pictures and then I will write a post all about how amazing he is. I think it was the perfect day for Jonah.
