13-years-old

It is official, Jonah is a teenager.  He must be advanced because the he has had the teenage attitude for a while now! 

Jonah has always been a charmer.  I remember him showing off for people and trying to make people laugh when he was really young.  He is really good at bringing people in and making them feel important.

Jonah has a great laugh and he laughs a lot.  He is usually happy and finds joy in simple things. 

I love the raised eyebrow, he does that a lot.  Jonah is obsessive about his hair.  He likes it short and asks for a haircut almost every week.  He always combs his hair every morning and uses plenty of gel and hair spray to make sure it will look good all day. 

At least a few times a day Jonah will make this face and say, "really?"  He always seems to be shocked by information, even if he has heard it before.

Jonah is a leader.  I don't think he understands how many people look up to him and follow him, especially his younger siblings.  He does a great job of including everyone.  This year in school he was voted into the Kindness club as one of the leaders.  He was surprised, but I wasn't.  He goes out of his way to be kind to people and make them feel included.  He loves his peer tutor class.  He is so good with the kids, even when they try to mess up his hair!

Jonah is so full of energy.  I remember this being a real challenge when he was a toddler, but I knew it would serve him well and it does.  He never wants to miss out on anything.  He is very social and likes to be right in the middle of everything.

Jonah is very intelligent.  He works hard in school and I very rarely have to remind him to do homework, he just comes home and gets it done.  He is also very spiritual.  I have loved watching this side of him develop over the last few years.  He reads his scriptures and gives very thoughtful insights and answers.  He loves passing the sacrament and takes it very seriously. 

He is looking more like a man every day.  He wears a size 9 1/2 shoe and is hoping that means he will be tall.  He is so handsome!

Jonah and I have a lot of similar interests and I love that.  We love to play and watch sports together. Jonah loves to be with his friends.  I'm so grateful that he has such a great group of friends.  They are all good boys and have a lot of fun together.

 Jonah is so much fun to be around.  We love the fun and humor that he brings into our home.  It really is a joy to be his mother.
