Wyatt loves penguins. Randomly through out the day he will say, "I like penguins." He knows a lot of facts about them and loves anything penguin.
Caitlyn made this penguin cake for him. I'm beyond impressed with her skills. I can barely frost a cake, so I can't imagine making something so amazing. She worked so hard and Wyatt loved it!
We debated about what to do for Wyatt's birthday. He wanted to have a friend party, but it's tough because everyone isn't comfortable getting together with COVID-19. We tossed around different ideas and he settled on having a special day with Rockwell.
Rockwell gave him the coolest present, Funnel Pong. We have all had so much fun with it. Wyatt loves it.
Wyatt and I went shopping the day before for supplies. We found great stuff so I could make fun baskets for the boys. Wyatt decorated the front room with his penguin picture.
I bought a penguin mold and Wyatt made penguin ice cubes for the party. I found a game online where you see who can melt an ice cube first.
We called it, "melt the penguin." They would spin a die and they had to do a different action for each number that was rolled. Wyatt got ten shakes of salt a lot!
Rockwell kept getting the number for putting the ice cube down your shirt.
Wyatt's melted first on the first round and Rockwell's did on the second round. We did a third round before I took Rockwell home, but I can't remember who won that one. They had fun and I had fun watching them.
Next they played pin the beak on the penguin.
Wyatt drew the penguin and got the game set up.
The boys were so impressed with Caitlyn's cake.
Next they watched "Penguins of Madagascar." They had movie snacks in their baskets and plenty of popcorn, they both love popcorn!
I ordered some penguin figures for the party, but they didn't arrive until halfway through the party. I put them in small cups of water and put them in the freezer and hoped they would freeze quickly. Right before we took Rockwell home they were ready.
It was the perfect celebration for these two penguin loving boys.
