Open Air Art Night

Wyatt had the opportunity to perform with his studio at Open Air Art Night on Saturday.  When Wyatt signed up for break dancing he told me that he wanted to find a studio that didn't do recitals.  His confidence has grown a lot since then and he decided it would be fun to perform.  You can see him on the far left in the picture above.
We weren't totally sure what to expect because this was a first for all of us.  He had a rehearsal that morning and Deon helped him put a routine together. They each took a turn coming out to perform.  Wyatt did a great job.  He said he was nervous for a minute and then he was okay once he started moving.  I love watching him break dance.  He does such a great job and he loves it so much.
I took a video of Wyatt and put it on Instagram. Jonah asked me to send him a copy so he could post it too.  Wyatt loved having Jonah there to watch him and I think it made him feel really good that Jonah wanted to share a video of him dancing.
Hallee had fun drawing with chalk while we were waiting for Wyatt to perform.  It was a cool event.  The poem readings were a little awkward, but the atmosphere was fun.  It was so much cooler than it was earlier in the day when we were at soccer games.  The cool air and shade felt so good!
Caitlyn got home Saturday night from St. George.  She had so much fun.  She needed this chance to feel normal and socialize so bad.  This virus is so hard on all of our kids.
She had fun playing tennis, but I think hanging out with her friends was the highlight!
They all love their coach, Josh.  He works with the exhibition team.  I am so grateful that Caitlyn was able to have this experience.

Trying something new

A while ago Hallee told me that she wanted to play soccer.  I signed her up for Spring, but that was canceled because of Covid-19.   She has been anxiously waiting to start soccer this Fall.  Last Tuesday was her first practice.  Erin signed Amanda up and volunteered to coach. Hallee was so excited, she loves Amanda.
Wednesday was Hallee's first game.  She was thrilled that Tiff and the kids came to watch.  She was really excited to have people watch her.
I wasn't sure how much Hallee would like soccer, but I was glad she wanted to try something new. I love when my kids get out of their comfort zone to try new things.
Hallee did great.  She worked so hard. It was hot and tiring, but she didn't stop.  She had her second game Friday and I could already see improvement.  She was more aggressive and did a great job at stopping the ball on defense.  She said she loves soccer.
Jonah was excited to see Hallee play soccer.  She was so excited that he wanted to come to her game.  I volunteered him for flag duty, you can see he was thrilled about that!
Wyatt loved having Rockwell there to play with during the game.
My kids loved spending the afternoon and evening with their cousins.

Lindy moves to Provo

Last week Julie brought Lindy up to BYU.  We are so excited to have her close by.  I got to go help Wednesday morning and see her apartment.  She has to wear this on her arm for eight weeks, poor girl.  I know she is a little nervous about it, but she always tries to look on the bright side.
Ashley drove up with Lindy and Julie.  We loved spending time with her.
Jonah sent his friends home so he could hang out with Ashley.  It was so sweet.
Julie had a shower for Paige while she was here.  Tiff helped her and hosted.  It was a lot of fun.  This was during Pictionary.
Kyle came toward the end of the shower and she had a game where we had to choose Paige or Kyle for different questions and then they would answer.  It was really funny to watch.
It's fun to see how much they love each other.  They both seem very happy.
Caitlyn was so excited to go to the shower.  She is always happy to spend an evening with her cousins.
Julie was busy on Wednesday so Ashley stayed home with us.  Caitlyn loved having her here.
Wednesday night Lindy came over for dinner.  Tiff and her kids were here too.   Julie and Ashley left early Thursday morning.  It was a quick trip, but we sure enjoyed seeing them.

Lagoon

Keith's company had a Lagoon day last Saturday.  We were all a little worried about the heat, especially with masks, but we were also excited about a free day at Lagoon!
It wasn't very crowded for a Saturday.  We could walk on a lot of the rides and I don't think we waited more than 10-15 minutes for the big rides.
We like to find rides that we can all ride together.  We all had fun on the bumper cars.
Everyone had fun trying to crash into each other.
Once we got on the ride we could take off our masks.  So many things make no sense these days.
The flying aces was another one we all had fun riding.
Wyatt didn't want to ride so I was going to stay off with him, but I was so happy when he said he would go.  The breeze felt so good!

Jonah wanted to ride Rocket, but Caitlyn doesn't like it.  I told him that I would watch him go on it.  I got in line with him and decided I might as well go on it.  I was pretty nervous about it though, I'm not a big fan of heights and it's been years since I rode the rocket.  When we got in our seats it took almost ten minutes of them checking seats and saying they weren't locking, even Jonah was getting a little nervous.  They finally started it and luckily we were safe!  I actually enjoyed the ride a lot more than I thought I would.  The height didn't bother me, I think because of how secure the seat belt is.
After the rocket we met everyone in a shop.  Wyatt wanted this squid hat.  We told him that we should buy it on our way out so he didn't have to worry about it while we were there.  He was insistent that he wanted it and wanted to wear it in the park.  He said, "I would rather sweat then not have a squid hat."  He is a funny kid!
Vasayo provided a box lunch for us. It was so good and also came with as many ice cream bars as we wanted.  After lunch Keith and the older kids went on some rides while I took Hallee and Wyatt around.
I was surprised that Wyatt and Hallee wanted to ride the sky ride.  It was worse than rocket.  The ride kept stopping and at one point we were bouncing up and down.
I was surprised when I looked across the way to see Jonah on the sky ride going the opposite way.
I was really surprised to see Keith on it.  He hates heights!  He loves his kids more though, he said they wanted to go so he went.
Hallee tried a few new rides this time.  She loved flying aces and the dragon ride.
The heat wasn't terrible when we first got there, but by the afternoon it was getting unbearable.
We were all ready to go home and get out of the heat after five hours except for Hallee.  She wanted to stay.  We let her do a few more rides and then we headed home.  I'm so glad we went and I'm so glad we didn't pay so we didn't feel bad leaving!

South Fork

When the kids got home from school on their first day of school I took Hallee and Wyatt and we went to South Fork to meet up with Tiff and Katie.
These boys are so cute!
The cold water felt so good in this heat!
There was two big pieces of wood in the water and they made perfect boats.
The boys kept walking upstream and bringing big pieces of wood back down.
They used the wood to build this cool fort.
Wyatt loved giving me a tour of the fort.
I love that they built a fire too!
It was so nice to sit in the shade and visit with Tiff and Katie while we watched the kids play.
Wyatt was having so much fun that he wanted to skip his break dancing class and stay and play.
The kids played for four hours and still didn't want to leave.  We decided to go back on Sunday.  Tiff and Paul met us there.
Wyatt and Rockwell took us behind the river to show us a teepee that was up there.
I love seeing my kids having so much fun in nature.
Caitlyn and Jonah were not as excited about going as Wyatt and Hallee were.
Keith got them to play frisbee with him.
Tiff had spike ball in her car so we played that with Caitlyn and Jonah.  It was so much fun!
Tiff and I walked in the river with Tessa, Hallee and Damon.
It was so pretty!
It was a great way to beat the heat.  I love South Fork, it the perfect escape!
