Grab my hand mom

Wyatt told me he wanted to go on a hike.  I was surprised because usually he says no way when I ask him to go on one with me.   I knew I didn't want to pass up this opportunity so we went up to Bridal Veil Falls today when he got home from school.
There is a steep trail that takes you up to the middle of the falls.  Wyatt went first and he would always turn around on really steep parts and offer me his hand, it was the sweetest thing!
There were a few people up there so I asked them to take a picture of us.
My watch said we climbed over 200 feet in a quarter of a mile.  It's a short hike, but very steep.
Wyatt wanted to go higher so he started climbing up the rocks.
This part was even more steep, but I decided it would be fun to go up there with him.
Wyatt would find a tree to hold onto and then reach down and grab my hand to help me up.
I kept taking pictures because I was sure we had gone as high as we were going to go and then we would go higher.
We went a little higher than the people you can see in the background behind Wyatt.
I loved being right next to the falls. The sound of water is so calming.
I was a little surprised that Wyatt wasn't nervous about climbing up so high.
I tried to take a selfie to show how high we were, but it didn't really show it.  I struggle with selfies!
I had to get one with the waterfall in the background.
This one does a good job of showing how high we were.  I felt like we were pretty safe on the way up, but I was worried about getting back down.
This was another one to show how high we were.  You can see the cars down there, that is where we were parked.
This one shows the cars and then in front of them you can see people, that is the river trail at the bottom of the falls.
It was a little daunting to see the trail back down. We did it without falling though!
I loved looking around and seeing the gorgeous Fall colors everywhere I looked.
We stopped for a quick picture at the bottom on our way back to the car.
A hike wouldn't be complete without a soda on the way home.
It was Wyatt's turn to cook dinner tonight so we came home and showered and then got to work on dinner.  He chose scrambled eggs and waffles for dinner.  He did a great job making them and didn't need much help from me.

Wyatt is the sweetest boy and I'm so glad you were able to hike with him! That's just so nice of him to want to help you up and then to come home and cook dinner! Amazing! I remember that he is a good cook from when I was staying with your children in June. Great pictures.
