I love checking on the kids after they're asleep.
Jonah has been doing winter track for over a month now. He is enjoying it, but he comes home very sore and tired every day. He is so glad Kyle is doing it too, it's so much more fun with a friend.
A few weeks ago they had a meet at BYU. It was Jonah's first high school meet and he was nervous. He did the 60 M and the 200 M. He was happy with his performance. He is learning a lot and he was happy for the experience.
I took Kyle and Jonah to get a smoothie and brought them home for a while in-between events. Track meets are so long! Jonah got home just in time to go to work. He is going to stop working for now so he won't have any conflicts with track and then he will go back to work for the summer. It's so great that they are so flexible with him.
Hallee was thrilled when Caitlyn came to Lowes to jump with her during Wyatt's class. Caitlyn is such a nice big sister. Hallee keeps telling me that she wishes Caitlyn didn't work and she does not want Caitlyn to move out and go to college. I'm glad we still have a year and a half before that will happen.
Hallee just adores Caitlyn. She wrote her this sweet note. It says, "Dear Caitlyn, Caitlyn you are so thoughtful, kind, fun, creative, silly, and the best sister I could ever ask for! I love you and I hope you know how much I appreciate you and how special you are to me and this family. You make a huge impact on my life, you make me a better person! Cait you also have an amazing voice. I love it when I hear your beautiful voice singing. Love ya. Always will. Love: Hallee." I'm so grateful that Hallee and Caitlyn are so close and I hope they always will be.
Wyatt finished up his parkour class this week. I think he will miss having that every Tuesday.
Jonah has been talking about getting a buzz cut for months now, but he always changes his mind last minute. He finally decided to go for it a couple of weeks ago. It was hard for me to cut off his hair, he has such great hair! He looks great no matter how he wears his hair, but I think the short hair does make him look younger. He said he is going to grow his hair out again, but he is enjoying not having to comb it right now.
Wyatt is loving Young Men's. He loves when they have activities. Our ward only does them every other week, we never went back to every week since Covid. A couple of weeks ago Wyatt taught the boys how to break dance for the activity. He asked me if I could get a treat for him to take. It's so fun to see him enjoying it so much.
Wyatt gave his first talk in Sacrament meeting a couple of weeks ago. He volunteered to do it when they asked the Young Men. He wrote the talk himself and he did great. He spoke about honesty and integrity. Hallee wasn't feeling well that day so I stayed home with her and we watched on zoom. I was glad I could snap some pictures of the screen.
Last week Wyatt got up and bore his testimony. He talked about how much he loves to go to the temple and how he can feel the Spirit when he is there. It's so fun to see Wyatt developing so much spiritually. Getting him to go to church was such a battle for quite a while, we may or may not have bribed him with Dr. Peppers to get him to go without a fight, now he loves it. Keith said he was answering questions in the combined youth meeting. Wyatt was so shy for so long, so it still surprises me that he is so willing to speak in front of people. One of the great things about our church is we get a lot of opportunities for growth and development by being pushed outside our comfort zones.
We had parent-teacher conference at the elementary school last week. Hallee and Wyatt's teachers love them and had great things to say about them. We let them each pick out a book at the book fair to celebrate their hard work in school. I am so grateful that my kids like school and work hard and I'm so grateful for wonderful teachers!

They’re all such awesome kids! I’d love to watch one of Jonah’s meets sometime.
