I say this to Keith a lot, I lose it quickly when I'm hot. This particular time we left Brick Oven and we had been visiting with family outside for a while so I went to the van to start it up and cool off in the air conditioning before we went home and the air conditioning didn't work! Luckily Brick Oven isn't far, but it sure felt like a long ride home. Fixing that was our second van repair in a few weeks and today our washer bit the dust. Repairs and money stress are right up there with being hot, I hate them!
On Saturday we met at Brick Oven for lunch. Caleb and Johanna had just flown home from Mexico so they were able to join us.
After lunch I had invited the family over to our house while we waited to go to Lindsey's that night. Jonah texted me during lunch and told me that he had a fever, so that put a wrench in those plans. Poor Jonah did not feel well and still went to work. Matt and I really think he was dehydrated so I'm sure sitting out in the sun that night didn't help. By Sunday he was feeling better. We all went over to Tiff's house instead. I got to visit with Caleb and Johanna for a while. I just love them. They are so wise, kind and easy to talk to. I can't wait to watch them become parents.
Mark and Lindsey live in Orem, not too far from us, and they had everyone over for dinner.
It was nice to have more time to visit with everyone.
It was nice to see Jessica and visit with her.
I love any chance I get to hang out with my sisters!
We all went downstairs and Ron talked about how important family is and showed us a video of grandma talking to us at our family reunion in 2013. I remember that well because it was here in Utah because my mom was in charge and it was only a few months after Jen died. Mom had asked grandma to talk about her life and it was so fun to hear.
Jason recorded it and Ron found it on Jason's iPad. What a treasure! It was fun to hear Jason's voice too. We also saw little Caitlyn and Jonah playing on the stage behind her.
Pam talked for a minute as well. She talked about how grateful she is for family and knowing that we are there for each other. She said she was so grateful that we all came to Chris' funeral and that meant a lot to her.
Mom talked about how great family is too. She talked about losing Jen and the support we got from the family during that time. You can definitely see how losing a child has affected Ron, Pam and mom and how it has made family even more important to them. It's heartbreaking that we have lost three of the cousins.
Matt and I stayed late and visited with the aunts and uncles. It was really fun. I love visiting with family. It was really nice to have them laugh at my jokes and tell me I'm funny. My kids don't find me nearly as funny, ha!
On Sunday Matt and I went up to brunch at Snowbird with the family. It was very fancy. They didn't have our reservation (poor Shelley worked so hard and had nothing but problems) so we had to sit outside. It worked out well for visiting though and it didn't get too hot until the end when we started losing our shade. I got to visit with Julia while we ate and that was fun. We all said our final goodbyes and then me and Matt headed back to my house. Matt had a few hours before he had to leave for the airport, so we played a murder mystery game that Caitlyn bought. Keith, Matt and I were quite proud of ourselves for solving it. It was great spending time with the Hawkins family and it was so fun to have Matt stay with us!

Such great pictures! I loved the title of it and I can sure relate to being grumpy when I'm hot! I'm so glad that we were able to see the video of Grandma that Jason had recorded. I'm glad you got to visit with so many from the family and enjoyed the reunion so much!
Love the title! And I loved watching that video of Grandma.
