Things are changing

Since it was Caitlyn's last Sunday before she leaves we decided to have a special dinner for her.  She wanted chicken cordon bleu for dinner and cheesecake dessert.  After dinner we played a game and watched some funny videos.
We all wrote Caitlyn a letter and Hallee was excited to give those to her.
Hallee is having a very hard time with Caitlyn leaving.  Poor thing wants her sister home!
I think the letters meant a lot to Caitlyn.
She is feeling very anxious about moving away.  Cayden broke up with her a few weeks ago and that has also been very hard on her.  She has had so much change and so many things out of her control right now and that is so hard for her, especially with her anxiety. Dealing with a broken heart on top of everything else has made these last few weeks very hard for her. She is so sad to leave work.  She really feels like she belongs there and she loves the people she works with.  It's so hard to watch your child struggle and not be able to fix it for them.  I hope and pray that she will feel better once this transition part is over and she will love SUU.  I'm so grateful she is going with Amarie!
It was so sweet to read everyone's letter to Caitlyn.  We all love her so much and are going to miss her.

What a game!

Last week Jonah played in the first half of the JV game.  The game kept getting delayed for lightning, but luckily it was at Provo so I could go home while I waited.  I was able to get a lot closer than I can at the Varsity games and get some good pictures.
He did the kickoffs and the punts.  He did great.
I thought Jonah would enjoy the extra game time, but he said he would rather be at the Varsity practice and team dinner.
He did the kickoff for the second half and then he left to go to practice with the Varsity team.
I was able to get some good pictures of him while he walked off the field.
He sure is a good looking guy!
Friday night Provo played Olympus.  Olympus is 5A and we are 4A.  They are ranked really high and Provo was definitely the underdogs going into the game.  Keith and I enjoy going to the games every Friday night.  The sunset was so pretty.
Provo struggled during the first half.  At one point we were down 13-0.  Luckily we finally got a couple of touch downs and Jonah made both extra points.
Jonah practiced his kicks on the sidelines during the game.
With two minutes left in the game the quarterback lofted the ball to one of our players and then he threw a long pass to Bryant and he ran it in for the touchdown!  It was such a cool play.  That tied the score at 20-20.
Jonah came on the field for the extra point and there couldn't have been more pressure on that kick.  One of the other mom's behind me was asking me how I was doing and we were talking about how much pressure was on Jonah. Jonah was right by the Olympus student section when he kicked and he said they were all yelling and swearing at him, trying to get him to mess up.  He kicked and made the extra point with no problem.  He looked over at the student section and waved goodbye to them, ha!
Everybody was going crazy, it was such an exciting comeback.  Jonah said he wasn't nervous.  I admire his confidence.  He was definitely the right man for the job!
There was two minutes left and Olympus got past the 50 yard line and tried for a last minute field goal to win the game. Our team blocked the field goal and that was it, the game was over, we won 21-20.
We went down on the field to congratulate Jonah. He was so happy! Everyone was so excited and the whole team was on a high!
The next morning Paul texted us to say Jonah was mentioned in the paper.  It said, "Jonah Loosli's extra-point kick made the difference to help Provo improve to 2-0 so far this season."  I had a lot of people text me about Jonah's kick and about the article. Everyone was so excited for him. He was the talk at church on Sunday too.  It's fun to see your kid have moments like this.  I think he will remember that night for a long time!

Back to school and "back to holding in my farts"

On the first day of school Hallee and I were unloading the dishwasher and she turned to me and casually said, "well it's back to holding in my farts." I laughed so hard and I laugh every time I think about it.
School started last Wednesday.  Jonah let me take a quick picture of him before school.  He had to wear his sweater that day, he said it was so hot! Jonah had a car accident on Hallee's birthday and the Altima was totaled, so he doesn't have a car to drive anymore. He is so sad about that and so am I.  I do a lot more driving now that I have to get him places. I feel so bad for Jonah, he loved the freedom that came with having a car that only he drove. It's so hard to watch your kids suffer, especially when you can't make it better. Our insurance is going to jump again and we will be put on a claims watch and if we have any more at-fault accidents then we will be kicked off our insurance.  We are not really sure what to do at this point.  He has been a great sport about us not letting him drive.  I know he is so disappointed and frustrated, but he also understands where we are coming from. I've been impressed with how he has dealt with it.
Wyatt takes the bus to the Middle School.

He was ready to go on his first day of school.  We were both glad that it was 7th grade day so they had a day to find their classes without the 8th graders there.
Wyatt was ready early so I told him that we should take more pictures and he started running away, ha!
This was his face when I told him I could walk him to the bus stop and take his picture with the bus driver.
After that he decided that he would just go early to the bus stop, ha!  He is enjoying school.  He said it wasn't hard to find his classes and he is happy that he has lunch with a lot of his friends.  He said it is better than elementary school because he likes switching classes.  He has friends in most of his classes and he loves that.
Finally it was Hallee's turn to go to school.  She has had her clothes picked out and her back pack ready for days.
I can't believe this is our last year of elementary school.
Hallee has loved being back in school.  She loves her teacher and she loves being back with her friends.
All the kids say they don't like school, but they have all been a lot happier since school started.  We were ready for structure and I think they were ready to get out of the house and have some time apart.  Hopefully it will be a great year for all of them. Now we just have to survive taking Caitlyn to school on Saturday, that is going to be tough! Four kids in four different schools, everyone is growing up and everything is changing.

Happenings

The night before we went to Arizona Provo High had their green and white game where the team plays each other.  The four of us went to cheer Jonah on.
I can see why so many people like to go to the high school football games every Friday night. It's a fun atmosphere.  I was glad to see all the boys put their hand over their heart during the national anthem.
Jonah was nervous about the game.  He said he stomach was upset during dinner.  I'm so proud of him for putting himself out there like this.  It's not easy to do something new and do it in front of everyone.
I was so nervous for him when the time came for his first kick.  He nailed it with no problem.  I think we all breathed a little easier after that first kick.
I loved seeing everyone tell him good job as he ran off the field.
They made another touch down so he got to kick again.  He made that one too.  He went two for two in his first game!
I love the view of the mountains while we watch the game.
I think having his first kicks out of the way helped his nerves a lot.  There is another boy who wants to kick and I asked Jonah why he never kicked and he said he got too nervous. That is one of Jonah's strengths, he will never let fear stop him.  He has told me before that you have to show confidence even if you don't feel confident and eventually you will feel confident.  I admire that because that is not my strength!
Keith sent me a picture of their Sunday dinner while we were gone. He had the kids help make it and they all enjoyed breakfast for dinner.
I didn't realize that Jonah had a football game while we were gone or we would have come home a day earlier.  Luckily I could watch the game online.  Provo killed Grantsville. It was 41-0.  Every few minutes Jonah was back on the field for the extra point.  He made 5 out of 6 of the kicks.  I took a screenshot while I was watching and Keith's text came through.  Jonah did awesome. He was hard on himself about the one he missed, but we kept telling him that 5 out of 6 is great! I'm glad he got so many opportunities in a lower pressure setting.
Keith sent me a picture of them after the game.
Provo High School does Instagram stories to advertise the games. I liked seeing Jonah pop up on my phone.
We went over to mom and dad's to celebrate August birthdays.  I was so glad that Zariyah was happy with me that day.  She is so cute!
The night we got home from Arizona Hallee and Wyatt pulled out all of their Beanie Boos.
Me and Wyatt went to Airborne with Tiff and the kids before school started.  Hallee was feeling dizzy so she stayed home, she was sad to miss it.
Jonah got his student government sweater.  He helped at the Freshman orientation a few days before school started.
I took Hallee and Wyatt to their back to school nights.  I forgot to take a picture of Wyatt at the Middle School, he was very happy about that.  It was so crowded and hot, so I wasn't thinking straight. We were able to find all of his classes and meet his teachers.  He didn't seem nervous, I was more nervous than he was! I did get a picture of Hallee at her desk.  My baby's last year in Elementary School. She was excited to see so many of her friends are in her class.
Hallee was thrilled that Keith bought her a headband to keep her hair out of the way when she does her skin care routine and some eye masks.
Hallee asked me what my skin care routine was and I told her I wash my face.
She sees these things on YouTube and then wants to go out and buy products.  She had fun showing us her products and telling us about her skincare routine, ha!
I think it is so cute when Jackson plays with his toys.  It's so cute to see him grab it with his paws.
