Tuesday morning we were at Catalina Island. We tried to get an early start to beat the rush to get off the boat. We had to wait in a long line to get on a boat to take us over to the island. Luckily we ran into Matt and Lori so we were able to get in line with them.
Jonah didn't get off the boat with us. He got off later with Jacob and Ammon.
We sat on the outside of the boat and enjoyed the view.
We started out by looking in all the shops. Keith found a good donut shop.
Wyatt was thrilled when we bought some Dr. Peppers in one of the stores. You have to pay extra for soda on the ship so we were all excited for a soda.
I tried to look online and see if there was a good beach on the island. I could never find a good answer, some people said there was and some people said there wasn't. Keith asked someone in one of the stores and they said there was a good beach on the opposite side of the island.
We walked for a long time and passed some beaches where there was some sand and then you went down some stairs into the water. We were picturing a sandy beach where you walk right into the water so we kept walking. I feel bad because Mel and Amarie and my parents were following us and we didn't know where we were going.
We finally found the beach and it wasn't very good. It was rocky and painful and not what we were picturing. Keith and I got frustrated with each other and made everyone a little uncomfortable when we let our frustrations with each other known. The kids were great at lightening the mood!
I got in the water with the girls and that was the reset I needed. I hate being hot and I love cooling off in the water.
The girls and I had fun playing in the water.
It was hard to get in and out of the water because there were so many rocks that hurt so bad when you stepped on them.
We brought our snorkel gear. Caitlyn had fun trying it out.
Jonah, Ammon and Jacob came over to the beach.
I don't think they stayed for long and then they went back to the boat.
We stayed at the beach for a bit and then we took the long walk back to the ship.
We stopped to get all the sand off of us at the showers. It was so pretty everywhere you looked.
Wyatt was excited to find this tank top at one of the shops.
I was able to enjoy the view more on the way back to the boat. You can see our ship in the back of this picture.
I love all the palm trees.
I love all the boats too, it really is so picturesque.
Hallee was happy to see a towel animal when we got back to our room.
It was dress up for dinner that night.
Keith and the girls got so sunburned that day.
That night after dinner Keith took Hallee to do something and I went to a name that song show and then stayed up and visited for a while. It was nice to have time to visit with everyone. We all went up to the lido deck and got food and visited until we were all exhausted and ready for bed.
