Halloween

Jonah went with Ellen to the Halloween dance.  I love that he goes with different people to all the dances.
Jonah was able to borrow his costume from James.  Ellen came over early and helped him with his make up and hair dye.
I love to see the pictures they post on Instagram.
They did their day date the night before and went to a cabin to play games and carve pumpkins.
Jonah loved being in a group with all his best friends.
He had a great time.
Hallee helped me make our Halloween dinner a few days before Halloween.
I asked the kids if they wanted it this year and they all did, so that made me happy.
Wyatt decided last minute to dress up for school.  He was pretty proud of this costume he put together.  He went trick-or-treating with a friend.
Hallee debated about dressing up for school and finally decided against it. She said she regretted not dressing up because most of her friends dressed up.
She wore her costume from last year for trick-or-treating.
Hallee and I went to Tiff's for dinner and trick-or-treating. Tiff was so nice to feed all of us.
We loved having grandma and grandpa go trick-or-treating with us.
Tiff took great care of mom while we were trick-or-treating.  Mom kept saying, "Can we be done with Halloween now?"  She is not a fan of Halloween, especially the scary decorations.  Paul was so nice and took the kids around after me, Tiff, mom and dad went back to their house. It was fun to be able to visit with mom and dad for a while.  At one point mom and dad were laughing so hard telling us about how they can't find anything and how mom leaves things everywhere, like the barber shop and they have to go back and gather up her things.  I love to see them laugh. Life is pretty heavy for them, so any laughter and joy is a treasure!
The kids did a quick candy trade before we headed home.  It was a fun night.
Caitlyn and her roommates dressed up and went to the scream at SUU.  She said it was fun.
She dressed up like Cam from Modern Family.  Nailed it!

Kolob Canyon

On Sunday morning we picked up Hallee. We said a quick goodbye to Caitlyn so she could go to church.
There is an entrance to Zion's National Park fifteen minutes away from Cedar City.  It is very different from the South entrance.
The Kolob Canyon entrance has a couple of long hikes and one short overlook hike.
Hallee wasn't excited about going, but she was a good sport about it.
We just did the one mile overlook hike.
We tried to go here last year, but the road was washed out, so we couldn't go.
I'm glad we were able to fit it in before our pass expired.
It is pretty, but definitely not as amazing as the south entrance.
It is a lot less crowded though!
We took our time and tried to make it fun for Hallee.
We stopped often to enjoy the view.
The hike wasn't super hard, but it was pretty steep and rocky in parts.
We got some good pictures of Hallee along the way.
Being out in nature is so good for my mental health.
It was fun to have this time with Hallee.
Pictures never do it justice, but it sure was pretty.
The clouds didn't cooperate for the pictures. Luckily we got an early start because it started raining on our way home.
It's always a good feeling to make it to the top.
After the hike we headed home. It was a quick trip, but so much fun.  It was just the boost we needed!

Bryce Canyon

After Keith and I dropped Hallee off we headed to Bryce Canyon.
We had the parks pass that we bought last year that was still good until the end of the month.
I was excited to take Keith to Bryce.  When I went to Bryce with Mel, I knew Keith would love it and I was hoping we would make it there before the pass expired.
The shuttles were still running, but we were able to drive and park at Inspiration point.
We hiked over to Sunset Point.
It is so beautiful, I can't help but take tons of pictures.
It was a little chilly with a cold wind when we started, but it ended up being really nice weather for hiking.
We stopped at all of the viewpoints along the way.
We sat on a bench a few times and just enjoyed the view.  It was nice that we weren't in a hurry.
I love Bryce Canyon, it's such a unique beauty.
Keith was impressed when I showed him where Mel and I hiked.
After we hiked to Sunset Point we walked over to the visitors center.
We took a shuttle from the visitors center back up to our car.
I'm glad we did because the shuttle driver said we should go up to the highest viewpoint, Bryce Point.
So we stayed on the shuttle and went up to Bryce Point.
Every viewpoint is amazing, but this one was great because you could look out over the whole canyon.
We enjoyed the view for a while.  After Bryce we went back to Cedar City and we stayed in a cheap hotel right by Caitlyn's apartment.  We were both exhausted and enjoyed watching football and going to bed early!
