Christmas Sunday

Today is probably one of my favorite days of the year, the Sunday before Christmas. 

I loved having all six of us together for church.  Our sacrament meeting was so good.  They had beautiful music and beautiful talks about Jesus Christ.  

After church I gave a lesson and then we all shared our testimonies of Christ.  It was very special. I love hearing the kids testimonies and hearing about how and why they are growing spiritually.  They are all such good kids and have a desire to do what is right. Keith talked about how hard this year has been while he has been looking for a job.  The fact that he got called as elders quorum president the day he lost his job and released right after he started working in September was a special experience for him.  He felt close to Christ as he served in that calling and feels like it was a gift to him to be able to get through that hard time. 

After that we did our secret sibling. The kids were excited to give their gifts.  Jonah gave Wyatt a mirror for his room, a video game and some chapstick. 

Wyatt had Jonah and he had a hard time thinking of something. Jonah is always the hardest to shop for.

He wanted to get Jonah this butterfly knife thing because Wyatt has one and Jonah really likes it.

He also got him a gift card to Wing Stop.  Jonah loves Wing Stop!

The boys did good, they both knew what the other one would like.

Caitlyn had Hallee.  

She got Hallee lotion, perfume and glitter body spray. Hallee loved it. 

Hallee has been working hard on Caitlyn's gift. 

She got her a book and body wash.

She also made her a scripture jar.  She had five different colors of paper; one for happy, thankful, sad, anxious and frustrated.  She looked up scriptures that would be good in those scenarios and wrote a scripture on each paper. She did ten for each. It took her most of the day last Sunday. It was such a thoughtful gift and Caitlyn loved it.

After that we played Left/Right/Center.

Keith won! He shared his winnings with everyone.

After that we played bingo.

Hallee was the caller and the first to get bingo.

We decided to do some prizes this year so Wyatt and Keith picked some up at the store yesterday.

The kids thought that was fun.

They were all happy with their socks and treats.  Keith got me some bingo prizes too, that was a nice surprise. 

Today was a good day.  It is a day to focus on what is most important, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and family.  We are so blessed to have each other and have the gospel.  It was one of those great days where everyone got along and laughed together.  We even played more games after dinner.  I'm so grateful for days like this.
