Road Trip!

We left really early Friday morning to drive to Mesa. Alisha came with us. Cody and Alisha have hit it off and Matt, Lori and Elena were excited to meet her.  The drive went smooth and we made it there pretty quick.

We were all excited to be out of the car.
We got dinner and then had fun playing games.
We left early Saturday morning and drove to Rocky Point.  I get so excited when I get there and I can't wait to get down to the beach. As soon as look out at the beach from the balcony I feel an urgency to get down there.  I helped unload and got dressed and headed down to the beach.
My favorite part is walking through the tunnel.  The light is shining through that opening and it feels like you are literally walking into heaven.
It is my heaven for sure.  Look at that, I feel my spirits lift as I walk into this paradise.
I went right down to the beach and just sat down and stared at the ocean. I literally felt the weight of the last year lift and my spirits lift and it made me cry. I was glad I had a few minutes alone down there to just sit and take it all in.
Then somebody came by and I bought a fruit cup and life was good.
The kids came down to the beach after they ate some lunch. It was really hard not to have Jonah there. I miss him so much and I hate missing part of our family on vacation. Jonah was a great sport about it and was happy for us. I tried to get all my tears out before I talked to him, but I ended up crying to him about how much we missed him.
They were all so happy to be at the beach. It's been a while since the kids have been to Rocky Point and they were so excited to be back.
The first two days were sunny and warm. The kids loved swimming in the ocean.
Wyatt was excited to use the skim board.
We watched the sunset from the balcony that night.
At night we would push the furniture out of the way and put up five air mattresses and Alisha slept on the couch.
On Sunday morning we went to church. The meeting was in Spanish and it was a strange experience to not understand anything that was being said.  It gave me a lot of empathy for Jonah when he started his mission and didn't understand French. It would be so hard, I'm so proud of him for getting through it and being patient while he learned the language.
I wanted a picture after church. The sun was so bright so Hallee could not keep her eyes open.
This guy offered to take our picture, then he asked Matt for money, and he had his finger in every picture.
We always have to have a balcony picture.
We got Hallee a journal Book of Mormon and she has been loving it. She was excited to study her scriptures on the beach.
I went down and watched Wyatt skim board for a while.
It was fun to take pictures of him.
He loves the skim board.
Wyatt is looking more like a man every day.
After Wyatt was finished skim boarding Wyatt and Hallee started looking for shells together.
I just sat and watched them, it made me so happy. I love watching my kids have fun together, especially out in nature.
After that Keith, Hallee and I relaxed in the shade for a bit.
I brought a book, but I didn't end up reading much because I loved watching the kids and watching the ocean.
We spent the whole day at the beach.
There are so many shells on the beach, it's so fun to collect them.
I stayed down by the pool to watch the sunset.
I'm so glad I did because it was the best sunset of the trip.  The rest of the trip it was really cloudy.
The clouds looked pretty cool.
I will never get tired of this view.
Lori had cookies for the kids to decorate. They had fun with that.
Elena put tinsel in the girls hair.
Jonah called that night and he loved being able to talk to everyone. It was great to talk to him.  He is always so positive and is so good at enjoying the good and not focusing on the bad.
