I love to take pictures of my kids sleeping. They always look so sweet. Well it is official Jonah is 5 years old. Five seems like a big milestone to me. It is like they are officially a kid now. It is a little different with Jonah because he still has a year before Kindergarten, but he still seems so old.
We sent Jonah on a treasure hunt for his birthday gifts and special breakfast cereal this morning. He was excited with his blocks and we had fun building this house before pre-school.
He was excited to go to pre-school on his birthday. He was thrilled with the dart gun his teacher gave him. Jonah is such a smart, fun, energetic little boy. He is constantly on the move. Sometimes I wonder if it is even possible for him to sit still. He has always had a fun personality that makes him so much fun to be around. He likes to push the limits as far as he can. He loves to read and he is doing amazing with his reading and writing. He loves to make other people laugh and loves to be the center of attention. His favorite two words are, "watch this." He loves all sports and is very talented athletically. He loves to play outside and ride his bike and his scooter. He can be so sweet and is always willing to share. He loves to tease his brother and especially his sister. She plays right into it and gives him the reaction he wants. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with his endless energy, but I'm also grateful for it.
We took him to Toys R Us after school. They make a big fuss over the kids on their birthday and even give him a $3 gift certificate. Today his favorite line is, "can I (insert anything here) because it's my birthday?" He knows Mom and Dad are suckers for birthdays! We love this kid. Happy Birthday Jonah. It has been a great five years.
