We had a couple of nights free last week, it was great. We watched a movie one night and we were going to do it again the next night, but the kids wanted to play instead. I'm glad we listened to them. I find myself more and more distracted with electronics and wanting to zone out. I have got to do better at putting my phone away and spending quality time with the kids. We all had a great night when we put everything away and just had fun together.
The kids started by having yard sales in their rooms. We all had to go and check out each room. It brought back fun memories from when I was a kid. I used to invite Katie over for my yard sales, it might not bring back good memories for her! Wyatt had his cash register out and he loved shopping in Jonah's room!
Jonah discovered some things he had been missing while he cleaned out for his yard sale. He was happy to find his night vision goggles. The boys made a tent in Jonah's closet so he was excited to use his goggles to read in his tent.
Hallee and Caitlyn made a fort under the stairs. Hallee had fun showing us her ballet moves.
After the yard sale we had a dance party. Wyatt planned the dance party and made invitations for everyone. I should have taken a picture of those, they were so cute. The invitation said the party started at 8:00, but we convinced him to move the party up so we could have time for dessert before bed!
Wyatt showed us his break dancing moves at the party!
Jonah wanted to get in on the break dancing!
Keith is always great at getting in and dancing with the kids. Hallee loved dancing with dad.
It was such a fun night. It reminded me how much we need that unstructured family time!
We are already in a great summer routine. Caitlyn and Jonah love staying up late and sleeping in. Every night when the little two go to bed, these two stay up late and watch Goosebumps together. They have been getting along great this week. They also have a lot of fun drawing together. I love that they are finding so many fun things to do together.
