Hallee is full of questions, she asks me question after question all day long. What would happen if we didn't ever eat food? What would happen if we didn't have a house? What does hurry mean? What is that? Why do we have to sleep? How old are you? What if kids could get married? The list goes on and on.
We fit in a lot of activities on our last full week of summer vacation. We started at Lagoon on Monday. Wyatt talks big when he isn't at Lagoon, he tells us that he is going to ride all of the big rides, but when we get there it is a different story. He didn't love Bombora the first time he rode it so he hasn't wanted to ride it again, but he said he was going to do it on Monday. When we got there we went straight to Bombora and Wyatt went right on. He looked nervous, but he did it and he liked it!
He went with me the first time and then he went with Jonah. He went on it a few more times later that day. He was so proud of himself.
He also wanted to try the Tidal Wave. He has wanted to try this one for a while, but he always gets too nervous. We went on it together and he liked it at first, but after it was over he said he never wanted to go on it again because it made his tummy sick. I'm proud of him for conquering his fears.
Katie and the kids joined us at Lagoon, which makes it more fun for all of us. Katie and I stayed in Lagoon-A-Beach with the kids for a while. It was such a hot day, so we wanted to stay in the water as long as possible. The kids are always anxious to get back to the rides.
Hallee thought it was fun to sit on my lap with Kenzie. We had another fun day at Lagoon.
On Tuesday we went to Katie's for a while. Tiff and Audrey came too. The kids had a great time playing together and we had fun visiting.
On Wednesday Mel and the kids came down to pick up Amarie. We picked up Amarie on our way home from Lagoon on Monday night and she stayed with us for a couple of nights. I love having Amarie over, she is always so sweet to all of the kids and her and Caitlyn always have so much fun together.
We decided to go bowling while they were down here. Tiff and the kids joined us. The kids loved it. Rockwell was so good. I loved seeing his huge smile and muscle flex after every strike or spare.
Hallee loves EJ, he always gets down and plays with her.
Caitlyn loves her aunts!
Gorgeous girls!
Jonah had to put on a carnival to earn his bear for scouts. After we finished bowling everyone came over here for lunch and Jonah had the carnival ready for the little kids. He worked hard and did a great job. He had a lot of different games set up in the backyard. He had prizes and we made snow cones.
The sword fighting on the trampoline was a big hit. Tessa loved to play with Jonah because he kept falling over to make her laugh.
He put our Mr Potato Heads at the top of the swing set and had different contests with those. I think the kids all had a great time. Jonah did a great job planning, setting up and cleaning up!
Yesterday we stayed home and got the house clean and the lawn mowed so we can just relax and spend time together this weekend when Keith gets home. Today we went swimming with Tiff and Katie. The boys had a great time playing tag together. I loved watching Wyatt, Boston and Rockwell go down the water slides together. They were cheering each other on and having a blast. They are growing up!
Hallee and Tessa had a great time together. Caitlyn loved playing with Kenzie and Damon.
I was thrilled that Damon didn't cry while I held him when Tiff had to take Tessa to the bathroom. I sure love that cute boy!
After swimming I was able to cut the boys hair and get laundry done. Now I am anxiously waiting for Keith to get home. His flight was delayed for three hours so it looks like he won't be home until 2 AM. We are all so glad that these two weeks are over. I knew I loved Keith, but I don't think I realized just how much and how hard it is to be away from him. Keith has had a hard time being away as well, hopefully he won't have to travel again for a while. Keith was glad that the higher ups at work were very happy with what he accomplished in Texas and the plan that he laid out to fix the problems out there. I think this trip was definitely a good career move, but we are more than ready to have him home!
