We started back to school week with back to school night on Monday night. I didn't get a picture of Caitlyn at the Jr. High because we had a bit of a scare and had to rush out. We went through all of her classes and we were at her 6th period class when all of the sudden she said she felt sick and looked as white as a ghost. We didn't know where the bathroom was so she sat down on a bench in the hall and I grabbed a garbage can in case she threw up. She just kept telling me she didn't feel good and she wasn't making a lot of sense. We were upstairs so we had to get back downstairs to go home. She finally felt good enough to walk and stopped for a drink of water and started to feel a little better. We were able to run into her last class really quick before we rushed home. Poor girl, I think she had a mix of low blood sugar and a panic attack. It was scary. She hadn't been too nervous about school, but she was after that.
I got Cailtyn home and told her to lay down and rest while I took the boys over to their back to school night. I was so happy to be in the elementary school where I knew where I was going! I love the kids school, they work hard to teach the kids how to be good, successful people.
We met Jonah's teacher. He seems nice, but he is a little odd. Hopefully it will be a good year for Jonah. Jonah is disappointed that his friends are all in another class, but he is a good sport about it. He has a few friends in his class, just not his close friends.
Wyatt is so exited for first grade. His teacher is amazing! We got to visit with her at parent/teacher conference (they do them on the first week of school) and I was very impressed. She tested Wyatt on reading and math and was so excited about how well he does in both subjects. She said Wyatt is reading on at least a 3rd grade level and she loved seeing his math brain at work. This is going to be a great year for Wyatt!
Tuesday morning the kids were all ready to go. Caitlyn was nervous, the poor girl gets stomach aches whenever she is nervous, so the first couple of days were rough on her stomach. Caitlyn rides the bus to school. The bus stop is right around the corner from our house. I wanted to go take a picture of her at the bus stop, but Jonah talked me out of it. Caitlyn used her own money to buy a phone on Saturday. She paid for the phone and the activation fee and we told her that we will pay half of the bill every month. She was thrilled and I was relieved that she would have a phone! She has asked for extra jobs around the house so she can make sure she has enough for her half of the bill every month. I'm sure she will make enough with babysitting, but she said she would feel better knowing she was earning enough at home every month to cover the cost. I'm proud of her and happy to see her thinking that way. I'm always willing to let my kids earn money if they are willing to work hard!
Caitlyn sure is beautiful! Tuesday was 7th grade day, so there were lots of people in the halls helping the kids find their classes. Caitlyn said she found all of her classes pretty easily. She texted me at lunch and told me that she was having a great day, I was so relieved. She has enjoyed this week and already feels pretty comfortable in the school. Her stomach is finally starting to go back to normal! I'm so relieved that it went well and that her first week jitters are over! I think she is really going to love middle school. She especially loves her gym and sewing teachers. They were so nice and went out of their way to make the kids feel comfortable on back to school night. I'm so grateful for good teachers.
I can't believe Jonah is a 5th grader. He is sure a handsome guy! He loves to go to school early every morning so he can play sports with his friends. He is stepping up and looking out for Wyatt at school and making sure Wyatt gets to school and back home every day. Jonah has had a great week. He likes school and is happy to go every day.
Wyatt is so excited to be in first grade. He has been packing his back pack for weeks! I love seeing how excited and confident he is. He loves eating lunch at school and he was excited to tell me about all of the new friends he is making. He can't wait to go to school every day.
I know I am bias, but look at these handsome boys! I can't get over how cute they are. Wyatt and Jonah ride their scooters to school every day. Wyatt plays sports with Jonah and his friends in the morning and then Jonah walks Wyatt to class. I love having Jonah there to look out for his little brother. It is amazing how much better all of the kids are getting along now that they have a break from each other every day. I'm so glad the stress of going back to school is over and everyone had a great week!

That is too cute that Jonah walks Wyatt to class!
I'm so glad that things went so well after your worry Monday night! I'm so proud of Caitlyn for working so hard for her phone and taking responsibility to buy one and pay for the service! You've taught her well! I'm so proud of Jonah for walking Wyatt to class and playing with him before school and also for his good attitude when he doesn't have his close friends in his class! Very impressive! Wyatt is a smart one, isn't he? Actually they all are but that's great that he's reading on a third grade level and has such a math mind! You do have wonderful children!
