Adventures along the coast

I really wanted to go to the coast while we were in Portland.  I love the ocean and couldn't stand the thought of being so close and not going.  Luckily everybody else was up for it and the weather cooperated and we had a perfect Saturday on the coast.
The boys all rode in our van.  I'm glad these boys have so much fun together.
Our first stop was a logging museum.  They have a memorial with the names of people who have died in logging accidents.  It was so sad to see how many there were.  Julie's grandpa died when her mom was 10-years-old.  It took us a while, but we found his name.  Julie told us some cool stories about him.
There was a lot of fun equipment outside.  I told the kids they could climb on the equipment because there wasn't a sign saying we couldn't. We saw the sign on our way out, whoops!
The kids had a great time checking everything out.
It was a little chilly (more chilly for some than others), but the weather was great.  I was so relieved that it wasn't raining.  Gary and Julie said I'm their good luck charm because they always have great weather at the coast when I am with them.  It was amazing weather for a December day.
The machines were a little boys paradise!
Alexys and Lindy always take great care of Hallee.  She loved riding in the car with them on the way down.  After that Hallee wanted to ride with grandma and grandpa.
Wyatt loved this tractor.  He didn't want to get off of it.
After that we stopped to see largest Sitka Spruce Tree in the U.S.  Actually, we say what was left of it. It had to be cut down because it was too damaged.  The trunk was huge!  Everyone was so happy about all of the pictures I wanted to take.  HA!
Here is part of the trunk so you can see how big it is.
Love this cute family of mine!
After that we ate some lunch while the kids threw rocks in the water.  I love seeing the kids have a blast playing outside.  It was nice that we didn't feel rushed either.  We had different places that we wanted to see, but we figured we would just see how things went, I love days like that.
