I had a nice mothers day on Sunday. I'm so lucky to have these four kids. I have always wanted to be a mom and I hoped and prayed for each one of them. Being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever loved. I worry so much about these kids and how I am doing as a mom. I don't want my mistakes and shortcomings to be a stumbling block for them. I like the thought that I was meant to be their mom, including my shortcomings and weaknesses. Those along with my strengths will give these kids the experiences they need to grow and develop.
Keith and the kids got up early and made me a delicious breakfast. They also made me a yummy dinner and gave me some of my favorite treats. My favorite thing was their hand written notes. I love to see what they will say and what they appreciate about me. Hallee wrote a book about me at school and said my favorite thing to do is sleep. She is not wrong. Yesterday when I was on a field trip with Hallee I told her and her friends that we should take a nap and one of them said, "You were right about your mom Hallee, she loves to sleep!"
Hallee's teacher asked me to go on their field trip yesterday. Field trips are not my favorite thing, but Hallee was so excited for me to go so it was worth it. Hallee was so excited for the field trip. We sat by each other on the bus on the way down there. We went to Discovery Gateway, so it was a LONG bus ride.
I got the cutest group. I have worked in Hallee's group all year so I know the kids in her class. Asia and Amanda are two of her best friends. I texted Erin a picture and she said that Amanda was hoping that she would be in my group, but the teacher told them that they couldn't pick which group they were in. She said Amanda told her that everyone would pick my group if they could, that made me feel good!
We were at the museum for two hours. We were assigned different sections and every twenty minutes we would switch. Asia and Hallee were always together.
There are so many things to see, the girls had a hard time choosing what to do.
They have expanded the water table since the last time I was there.
They have so many cute things for the kids. Hallee loved that she could touch everything.
There were so many kids there! It was hard to keep track of my group.
I'm glad Hallee wants me on her field trips. I love watching her have fun with her friends.
Hallee loved the hospital area outside. She wants to be a doctor when she grows up.
Hallee wanted to sit with the girls on the way home, so Breanne sat with me. About half way through the trip Hallee decided she wanted to sit with me, but I told her I wasn't going to make Breanne move. We were all so hot and tired by the time we got back to the school. I had a headache the rest of the day! I am so amazed by and grateful for teachers. I can't imagine doing what they do every day. I'm so grateful for my kids teachers. Mrs. Clark has been great for Hallee this year. I've been so impressed with how she runs the class room and works with the kids on all of their different levels.
Caitlyn loves to rearrange things. Her latest is to put her bungee chair in her closet and sit in there while she watches shows. Love that girl!
