Spring Soccer

Wyatt finished up his Spring soccer season with Provo.  It went by so fast!  He loved playing with so many friends and of course Rockwell.
Wyatt has great footwork and he loves to dribble around people.  He has been practicing his footwork with Jonah and he is very proud of it.
Wyatt likes to play goalie and he likes to play forward.  Sometimes goalie can be pretty boring.  Wyatt finds ways to entertain himself, here he is playing with grass and another time he started do the macerena.
He does a great job at goalie.  He has a strong kick so he can get it all the way up the field after he stops the ball.
Right after Provo soccer ended Lindon soccer started up.  I love that Wyatt and Rockwell can play together in both cities.  Wyatt played goalie again.  The score was tied 5-5 and there was only a few seconds left.  Wyatt blocked a shot and dropped kicked the ball up to Rockwell who was playing forward and Rockwell kicked it in the net right before the end of the game whistle blew.  It was a great way to end the game!
Jonah has been having a great Spring season.  He is playing great and his team is really playing well together.  Jonah is so precise with his passing.  He has had some great assists this season.  Grandma was so nice to drive all the way out to Eagle Mountain to watch Jonah play.
Jonah always plays midfield.  I think he would like to play forward, but his coach always puts him in midfield.  The field is so big, so Jonah does a lot of running during the games.
Jonah is sure looking grown up these days.
We don't love Jonah's coach.  He is a military guy and told the boys "that soccer is like war."  He uses shame and fear on the boys and I don't like that.  I hate to see Jonah playing in fear of messing up instead of playing with confidence in himself.  His coach can be really good sometimes, but it is really stressful to wonder what kind of mood he will be in and how he will treat Jonah each game.  We have decided not to have him play for him again.  We are going to try the new soccer club here in Provo next season.  I will be helping a little with the club and I'm excited about it.

That's great that Wyatt can entertain himself when he gets bored and that he's so good at goalie! That sounded like quite the ending of the game when Wyatt kicked it to Rockwell and he made a goal! Great teamwork from the boys! Jonah is looking grown up and sure played well at the game I went to even though he was hurting!

Wyatt does have awesome ball handling skills! And he’s great at goalie too. I’m so glad I get to see him play every time Rock plays.
