I'm trying to find a good balance of activities and time at home this summer. We did pretty good with our summer jobs and responsibilities this week. Some days the kids didn't mind and other days they told me I was ruining summer by making them do things!

One afternoon I had a read-a-thon with Wyatt and Hallee. We made popcorn and they each got a pack of Mentos. Wyatt has been reading a ton of books this summer. He loves to read when the books are funny.
Caitlyn and Hallee have been having fun together. They love to play Skip-Bo together. I have loved seeing them studying the scriptures together a few times this week. Provo High has summer seminary once a week this summer. Caitlyn went on Tuesday and loved it. She was hoping her friend would go with her, but she ended up going alone. She was nervous and not sure about going on her own, but she decided to give it a try. I was so proud of her, going alone is hard! I dropped her off and said a quick prayer that someone would reach out to her. I was so happy to hear that a girl sat next to her and talked to her.
Caitlyn and Hallee have had fun baking. They love to watch baking shows and they were pretending they were on one while they made cupcakes. It was so funny to listen to them from the other room.
They made cookies and cream cupcakes with a Swiss meringue butter cream frosting (Caitlyn had to explain what that was to me). They were so good!
We went to Jump Around Utah on Wednesday. They opened a new one in Lehi, it was nice because it felt so new and clean.
We met Allison and the kids there. Our kids always have so much fun together. Allison and I had a great time visiting while the kids played. After that we all went to Sonic for drinks and snacks. We love catching up with friends!
On Friday I told the kids they had to go on a hike with me. I told them that they can spend a couple of hours a week with their mom and it won't kill them! I found a hike in Spanish Fork that I wanted to check out called Dripping Rock.
Unfortunately the trail had been washed out so it just ended and we never got to see the actual Dripping Rock.
We had fun exploring and throwing rocks in the water. We wore water shoes and clothes that we could get wet in, but never needed them. The river was fast and deep. It was pretty gross too, so no one wanted to get in.
I love to get out and spend time with my kids.
Jonah went to Lagoon with Ky, Kyle and Christian on Thursday. Luke and his friend took the boys and looked out for them. They rode front runner up there. Jonah loved it. He worked hard to earn the money to be able to go.

I love that Cait went to seminary by herself. What a brave girl! And they are so cute baking together!
