Private First Class Earl Reives III

EJ graduated from basic training last week.  I was so excited to hear that I could watch the graduation online.  I took some screen shots with my phone during the graduation and I actually caught him walking in.  I'm surprised I got it because he looked different with no hair!
Mel, Earl and the family were in their seats when the soldiers marched in and Mel said it felt like Christmas when EJ sat right across from them!  It must have been so hard for him not to look at them.
Here he is announcing his rank and name at the microphone.
The graduation was beautiful.  It was patriotic and beautiful and everything I thought it would be.  I'm amazed and so grateful that so many men and women are willing to sacrifice for our country.
I'm so proud of EJ.  I can't even imagine the strength (physical, emotional and spiritual) and grit it takes to complete basic training.
Mel and Earl did a great job teaching him and giving him all of the tools that he needed to accomplish such a difficult thing.  EJ has always been very spiritual and he told Mel that he grew closer to God and felt His love and strength helping him.
I know the whole family has been missing EJ.  I'm so glad they could all be there and spend this time together.
I'm so proud of EJ.   I have loved living close to him and watching him grow up.  It is an honor to be his aunt!

Beautiful post and you got some great pictures during the graduation! He's an amazing young man, isn't he? I'm glad you included what he said to Mel cause I hadn't heard that but it doesn't surprise me at all!
