Back to school!

We were all so sad when school's shut down last March.  None of us are fans of online school.  We kept crossing our fingers that the kids would be able to go back this Fall.  The governor issued a mask mandate for school.  Masks are annoying, but if that can get us back to school and real life then we are willing to do it.  Each school district in the state came out with different plans. Provo decided to split the alphabet and have half of the students come Mon/Wed and the other half come Tues/Thur and the other days will be online schooling.  They are also on the short day schedule, so they are in school for about five hours twice a week.  This is not what we were hoping for, but I'm trying to be positive about it.  The kids and I are grateful that they get some school time and hopeful that they will increase their in-school schedule soon.

The day before school started I took Caitlyn shopping.  Hallee and Wyatt wanted to come along and they found some clothes they liked.  I can't pass up new first day of school clothes so I was happy to buy them.  Hallee's outfit was adorable.  She had Caitlyn curl her hair the night before.  She was getting so excited to go back!

Everyone woke up early on the first day of school so I was able to get a group shot!

Caitlyn is in her second year of High School as a Sophomore this year.  She sure is a beauty!

The kids haven't complained about the masks. I think we are all getting used to them.  Caitlyn starts school at 7:30 AM and gets home at 12:10 PM.  She doesn't have lunch at school.  She comes home and eats lunch and then I take her back for tennis practice.

I made her take a second day of school picture too because she just looked so cute! 

Jonah is in his second year of middle school.  He catches the bus at 7:30 AM and gets home about 1:20 PM. 

It's hard to have half of the school going on different days because they don't get to be with all of their friends.  They also make them eat lunch with their 5th period class and that happens to be the one class that Jonah doesn't have a good friend in.  He is happy to be back in school though and loves the social aspect of school.

These two are in 4th and 3rd grade.  Wyatt has Mrs. Wing and Hallee has Mr. Arney.  They start school at 8:20 AM and get out at 1:20 AM.

Hallee is sad that Amanda and Asia are not in her class this year.  Luckily, she can still play with them at recess.   The kids are happy to be back in school and I hope they will be able to get back to school full time sometime soon!
