Hallee has been looking forward to her baptism day all year. Today was the big day!
It is so weird that Caitlyn and Jonah are so tall. It doesn't seem like that long ago that they were all small enough to stand in front of us.
We had family over at 11:30 AM for lunch and a program. We couldn't do talks or music at the church, just the ordnances, so we had the talks here before we went to the church.
Mel came over early to do Hallee's hair. She did a French braid around her head. She did the same thing for Caitlyn on her baptism day. It is perfect because it still looks great after it gets wet.
Hallee asked grandpa to give a talk about baptism and grandma to give a talk about the Holy Ghost. They both did a great job.
Hallee loved having everyone here.
It was so nice of all of these cousins to come support Hallee. They limited the number in the church to 20 because of Covid-19 so we were able to do a zoom call for anyone else. It was nice that my brothers and their families got to watch.
Kyle played the piano for us.
We are sure proud of this girl. She is beautiful, kind and always wants to do the right thing.
Hallee came shopping with me yesterday to pick out the food for the lunch. She had a hard time deciding on the dessert, she finally decided on donuts. She was so sweet and kept thanking me for buying everything.
Hallee wore her robe during lunch to make sure she didn't spill on her baptism dress.
The lunch was so good and so easy, my kind of meal!
It was such a hot day, but the girls still ate outside.
Hallee was really excited about her new scriptures, case and baptism book.
Our time was 1 PM for the actual baptism.
Damon had a runny nose so Tiff decided to play it safe and her and Tessa came to the church for the baptism, but decided not to come to our house. It's so hard with the corona virus to not worry about every little thing. Tiff is always so thoughtful and considerate. We sure missed having them with us!
We had to wear masks in the church. Kyle was so nice to play the piano while we were waiting to start and while they were changing.
Wearing a mask is no fun, especially when it's hot! Hallee sure did look cute though!
Hallee wanted the whole family to participate. Caitlyn and Jonah gave the prayers, Wyatt and I were the witnesses and Keith baptized and confirmed her. Caitlyn and Jonah also took care of zoom and facetime so everyone could watch. Kelly and grandpa Loosli watched on facetime.
Luckily Tiff spoke up because Wyatt and I both thought Hallee went all the way under, but the hand that was holding on to Keith didn't go under. Tiff told us so we did the baptism again. Thanks Tiff!
Keith gave Hallee a beautiful blessing. He blessed Hallee to be a light in the world. She definitely is. Every time I feel stressed lately I watch Hallee dance and sing and I know things are going to be okay. Corbin Mercer was there for the bishop and he said that we really need people who are followers of Christ in the world right now. I definitely agree. Hallee loves Jesus Christ and wants to follow him. When she came out of the water and I was helping her get dressed she said, "I wish I could do that every day." I told her that is why the sacrament is so special, we can feel that same feeling every week when we take the sacrament. I was a little worried about how the baptism would go with this dumb virus, but it was a great day for Hallee!
