Tiff, Tessa and Damon came over to play during soccer practice on Monday. Hallee and Tessa played "mom and teenager." I think they both dressed for their character really well.
Tiff told me about Operation Underground Railroad a while ago and I wanted to learn more, but I was also worried about the heaviness of the topic. I listened to a few podcasts by Tim Ballard (the founder of Operation Underground Railroad) and I listened to one with a girl who was being trafficked for sex and she escaped. It is hard to hear about such horrific things happening to children, but I can't avoid it anymore, I want to be part of the solution. We have started donating to Operation Underground Railroad and I applied for a volunteer position as well. I have also read four of Tim Ballard's books. He is such an inspirational man. He left his job as a government agent to start Operation Underground Railroad so he could rescue kids from other countries without the red tape of government agencis. He started because of one boy named, Guardy, who was kidnapped in Haiti from his church where his dad was bishop. They still have not found Guardy, but they have liberated hundreds of kids while looking for him. Guardy's father is amazing and has taken in 8 children that they have rescued. He told Tim that "He and Guardy made a plan with Jesus Christ in the pre-earth life that this would happen (Guardy would be kidnaped) and they were both willing to do it." He also said, "I know Guardy will be found and he will be a voice that people will listen to." Guardy's father is very active in the organization and in helping rescue children. It is such a remarkable story that wouldn't make sense without an eternal perspective.
Thursday was World Day against human trafficking. There were marches to raise awareness all over the country. Me and my sisters wanted to get involved! We met at Tiff's house and Caitlyn watched the kids so Paul could come too. The Orem march had over 1,000 people.
We walked along some busy roads with signs. We got a lot of honks and yells of support. One of the things that I love about this cause is that it can unite us all. We can all rise up against evil. Unfortunately, I found out from some negative comments on social media that some people will criticize everything and everyone and do not want to unite over anything. That is so sad to me, but I really believe the majority (usually the silent majority) want to unite against evil. It was great to be with a group of people that all wanted to help, it didn't matter what our politics or religion were, we all just wanted to do something to help these kids.
Jonah took care of things at home until Keith got home from work. He called me to see if they could make muffins. They had fun making them and they tasted great.
We are watching the Anderson's dog, Mimi for a week. The kids have had fun giving her lots of attention.
Jonah looks and sounds so grown up. He has been self conscious about his mustache so he asked Keith to show him how to shave it.
He is not a little kid anymore.
He really is growing up to be an awesome young man.

I loved the picture of Hallee and Tessa playing mom and teenager! That was hilarious and they did dress their parts well! Great job joining in the fight human trafficking event and donating monthly! I can't believe Jonah started shaving. He is growing up and is a wonderful young man! Great blog as always.
Human trafficking is a very heavy thing to learn about, but because of the awfulness, it feels so good to be active in trying to prevent, rescue, and care for survivors. I love that you’re working to be part of the solution!
Jonah is growing up nicely!!
