Another year has flown by and this handsome guy is 11-years-old today. It really is crazy how fast time flies.
Wyatt is such a sweet, sensitive boy. He is very aware and concerned about how other people are feeling. He has grown and matured so much and his compassion and empathy continue to grow as well.
This is the look Wyatt gives me when he doesn't want to do something and he did not want to take pictures. He was a good sport about it though. He has learned to just do it quickly and get it over with.
Wyatt is still loving break dancing. Deon invited him to be on a break dance battle team. He will practice twice a week and really focus on improving his skills and coming up with freestyle routines for break dancing battles. He is so excited that they asked him to join.
Wyatt is a mama's boy! He likes to know I'm home and gets nervous when I leave at night. He is always so kind to me and thanks me for everything I do. He constantly asks if there is anything he can help with.
Wyatt has really struggled with depression this year. It breaks my heart to see him so sad. His therapy a couple of years ago really helped him be able to express his feelings. I'm so glad he will tell me how he is feeling, but it is heart breaking to have him tell me that he feels really depressed and doesn't know why. We decided it was time to get him some medical help. In June we took him to the doctor and he started him on anti-depressants. I feel like it has helped, but it will take some time to find the right dose. We also got him back into counseling at the same place he went before. He is now seeing the man who owns the place and Wyatt really likes him. Wyatt thanks me all the time for helping him get help and feel better.
Wyatt has been very interested in money and how much things cost lately. He is very concerned with how expensive things are. He keeps asking how we can afford to buy gas or pay for activities. We explained how much Keith makes and how bills and budgets work and he seemed to feel better after that. Now whenever he asks for something he says, but it's fine if it's too expensive. He also decided he wanted to research how much each college costs so he could decide which one he wants to go to. After we looked it up online he took $20 out of his wallet and put it in his savings, he realized he needs to start saving a lot!
Wyatt is very inquisitive and curious. He likes to know how things work and why things are the way they are. He loves to research things and learn more about whatever he is interested about. He loves to read. He reads through his books so fast and can't wait to start the next one.
Wyatt has matured a lot in the past year. He used to get overwhelmed and upset a lot, but he doesn't do that much anymore. He has really gotten good at calming himself down and knowing what he needs to regulate himself.
Wyatt loves to exercise and loves having the weight set and punching bag in the shed. He goes out there a few times a day. Wyatt loves YouTube videos, games on his phone and Minecraft. Wyatt has really gotten into drawing lately. He is constantly drawing people and he has improved a lot.
Quite often I look at Wyatt and can't believe how cute he is and how much I love him! He is so easy to love and so fun to be around. We are so lucky to have him in our family.
