Speechless

Hallee took a voice class this summer and loved it so she signed up again this Fall.  They have four performances throughout the year and last Saturday was her first one. 

They did a Halloween show at the Provo Mall.  Hallee sang "Speechless" from the live action Aladdin.  Tessa had a Jasmine costume and let Hallee borrow it.  It was perfect and she looked beautiful! Caitlyn did her hair like Jasmine's that morning before she went to work.

I knew I wouldn't be able to get good pictures of her singing at the show because she would be standing behind rows of windows, so I made her sing at home so I could get a couple of pictures.

The show wasn't until 3 PM. I was worried that Hallee would be anxious all day, but she didn't seem to be.  She practiced a lot, but she didn't seem too nervous.

The mountain view behind the stage is beautiful, but all the windows make it hard to get a good picture.

I love this picture.  Hallee was excited to have family there to support her.

The nerves started to build when she got her microphone on.  

She said she was so nervous walking up on stage, but she walked up there and seemed so confident.

She told me that once she started singing her nerves went away and she just enjoyed it.  This girl was born to perform, she just loves it! This was a really hard song, especially for her first performance, but she chose it anyway.  It goes into the melody without any notes, so it's really tough to keep the timing right.  She started a little late on the first melody and she handled it like a pro, she just sped up the words until she was back on beat.  I was so impressed that she didn't let that fluster her and that she got back on track so quickly and smoothly. 

She walked along the stage and made hand gestures that went along with the words.  She sounded beautiful and it made me tear up, I'm so proud of her.  She has been practicing this song every day.  Every week she sings at her class and the teacher gives her suggestions, she comes straight home and gets right to work on those suggestions.  She is such a driven girl, she always wants to do her best. 

Hallee loved having family there to support her.  I'm so grateful they came too!

Caitlyn had to work and Jonah was at his day date for the Halloween dance so they couldn't come.  They were both excited to see the video and told Hallee she did a great job.  

Mel had two free coupons for Bath and Body Works so Tiff and I took the girls after the show.  They were in heaven picking out their free item! After that Tiff took Hallee home for the evening.  It was an all around great day for Hallee!
