I love seeing my kids excited and surprised faces when they open presents.
Hallee got a lot of surprises because it is still so easy to pick out something she will like.
Jonah doesn't show a ton of emotion so it's hard to catch excitement on his face.
Caitlyn is very expressive and usually screams out in excitement when she opens every present. Then she will say something like, "This is exactly what I wanted."
We surprised Hallee and Wyatt with Minecraft for the Switch and you can see they are pretty excited about that.
Wyatt gets pretty excited when he opens presents. He got some surprises so he was pretty happy about that. The biggest surprise face is for a memory card for the switch.
Here are some more of Hallee's surprised faces. She was surprised with her Provo School of the Arts jacket, rock painting set and eraser set.
Here are a few of the kids opening the presents from grandma and grandpa.
We hid two small presents and when everyone was finished opening presents we gave them to Jonah. He wasn't sure what to expect. He got a good laugh when he opened the first one and it was $5 off his debt. He laughed and said, "well, every little bit helps." Poor Jonah has had a rough start to driving. He side swiped a car in the school parking lot when he was parking. Because it got scraped all along the car it is going to be $2900 to fix it. We were going to file an insurance claim, but they will raise our rates over $3000 and put us on probation so it doesn't make sense to do that. Poor Jonah is stuck with the bill. He has been a good sport about it. At one point I told him that I don't think he understands the severity of the situation and he said, "My positive attitude is what is going to get us through this." I've thought a lot about that and he is right, there is nothing we can do about it, so him having a positive attitude has really helped. He has picked up lots of shifts at the rec center and is working hard to earn the money without complaint.
The second box he opened was $500 off his debt. He was shocked and so happy. He said, "Are you serious?" When we told him we were he ran right over and hugged me and Keith and thanked us. We wanted to help him out and Christmas seemed like a great time to do it. That's a wrap on a wonderful Christmas. It really was one of the best we have had. Everyone was so generous and appreciative.
