The Never Ending January

Every year January feels so long, but every year I'm still surprised at how long it actually feels.  This year felt especially long because it was so cold and we seemed to have nonstop snow.  The winter blues are a real thing and it seems to hit hard in January!
Hallee decided she wanted to use some of her tattoos from her rock painting set on herself.
Jonah went to another Jazz game.  He made a poster for his favorite player, Vanderbilt, hoping he could get his shoes.  I guess they have size restrictions on posters so he had to rip his up to get it to a smaller size.  He didn't get his shoes, but he got another one of his head bands.  Another player gave him shoes, but a younger girl next to him was trying to get them too and cried when she didn't get them, so Jonah gave them to her.  He is such a nice boy!
Jonah and Oliver buzzed their heads one night.  Jonah told me that he might do it and I reminded him that he regretted it last time, but he told me the joke was on Oliver because he doesn't look good with a buzz.  Ha, Jonah can always make me laugh.
Wyatt and Hallee have been playing so well together lately.  It has been so nice, especially on these long, cold January days!
One day the sun was out so I tackled the big project of raking up all of the leaves in the back yard.  The snow came so fast that we haven't been able to get the second round of leaves up.  They were wet and nasty, but it felt so good to have that done.
Wyatt skilled up in break dancing.  He was excited to pass off the moves to earn this shirt.
Caitlyn likes this boy at work so she asked him if he wanted to be her date to Ashlyn's wedding (in May).  After that he asked her out and they went to a movie and out to eat after work. We let her stay out later than normal since they didn't get to start until after closing.  When she finally came home she had a huge smile on her face.  Her and Cayden have been spending a lot of time together since then.  He picks up shifts so he can work while she is working.  He is 21 years old, so he was a little hesitant to ask her out.  He said he didn't want to make her or her parents uncomfortable. I thought that was nice and Caitlyn reassured him that she is fine with it! They come and hang out at our house a lot so I've got to know him a little bit, he seems like a nice guy and he sure puts a smile on Caitlyn's face.
Wyatt can't do anything for too long, he usually gets up every twenty minutes and switches up what he is doing. He comes up with some creative things to do.  He has been in to bey blades lately.  He took the wheels off his skateboard and slides around the house on it.
I love finding selfies of the kids on my phone.
We have been playing Skyjo a lot lately.
Tiff and the kids came over on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  We always love to hang out with the Barths.  Rockwell and Wyatt put together a slideshow on why Rockwell should be able to stay at our house when Tiff took Tessa home for gymnastics.  I love that they put together slideshows when all they have to do is ask, ha!
The kids had Tuesday off of school as well.  Keith left that morning for convention in Dallas.  He was gone until Saturday evening.
Caitlyn and Jonah worked that day and I took Wyatt to the temple. He was excited to do baptisms.
He was very excited to stop for a soda afterwards.
After that I took Hallee to Sam's Club for a little mom date.
She found this coat on clearance that she just had to have.  I couldn't say no to that, especially since it was under ten dollars.
After that we drove up to the outlets because I needed to return something.  I couldn't believe Hallee fell asleep in the car, it's been a while since she has done that.
That night the kids helped me work on my diamond art that they gave me for Christmas.
Hallee went ice skating for activity days.  She was excited about that because she has been wanting to try ice skating for a while.  She said it was hard, but she enjoyed it.
Keith helped Hallee and Wyatt bake muffins one Sunday afternoon. Did I say how happy I am to see them getting along so well, because it is the best!

That last picture of Hallee and Wyatt is the cutest thing ever! And how sweet that Jonah gave the shoes to the little girl. What a sweetheart!
