Jonah asked Lydia to prom. Maddox asked Lydia's friend, so they thought that would be fun. Jonah asked if I would take their pictures. I was nervous about it, but I was glad that he wanted me to do it. Before he left to pick Lydia up, I asked for a picture and he said no, I could take them later. I told him that he wouldn't want me to take them in front of his friends, but he said he would.
He kept his word and he let me take his pictures. He sure looked sharp!
They were a good looking couple.
They started with a group double this size, but they decided to split up because it got too big. Jonah was frustrated with the group and the activities they picked and wished he was in the other group because they went paint balling and he thought that sounded fun. He ended up having a lot of fun and enjoyed meeting up with his other friends at the dance.
They were going to go to the aquarium so we bought tickets for that and then Colston decided he didn't want to. Luckily, we were able to get a refund. They ended up going to breakfast and then going to the park and playing games before the dance.
We took the pictures in Ian's back yard. Heather, his mom, took pictures too. Neither one of us was super confident about taking the pictures, but we figured between the two of us we would get some good ones. They turned out great!
It was fun to see Jonah with his friends. They are all nice kids and were very cooperative.
Jonah had a great time with Lydia.
Maddox wanted some pictures with Jonah and Jett.
I know I'm biased, but man, Jonah is a good looking guy!
I took the pictures of the boys and Heather took the pictures of the girls.
They were good sports and had plenty of ideas for poses. I did have to tell Jonah no when he wanted me to get a picture of them all hanging off the balcony.
James was the Prom King so they wanted a picture of them bowing down to him.
I'm glad Jonah wanted me to take the pictures and I got to be a part of the night. He even took a selfie for me! He thanked me and told me that the pictures were really good.
Prom was held at the Provo Library. They do a promenade where they call out each couples name and they walk down the stairs. Keith and I went over to watch. Jonah said it was a little awkward, but kind of fun.
Jonah took this picture of him and Kyle when the dance was over. Jonah loves getting in the mosh pit and dancing. His clothes were soaked with sweat! He said they had to end the dance early because they were breaking the floor boards. Jonah didn't come home on time that night and couldn't believe that Keith and I didn't know he would be late. His exact words were, "of course I'm going to be late, it's prom. Of course there will be an after party." He told us we should have known that and expected that. Teenagers are so hard sometimes! Luckily they are also a lot of fun, so it makes up for the hard times. I'm glad Jonah had such a great night.
