Wrapping up High School

Tomorrow is High School graduation for Caitlyn.  She has had fun wrapping up High School and is so excited to be done.  This is her last day of her internship.
I got this picture off the Provo school district website.  They had a lunch to celebrate all of the kids who did internships.  They invited the people they have worked with and those who have helped with the program.  They asked a few students to speak about their experience and Caitlyn was one of them.  She said it went well.  She has loved her internship at the hospital.  She has learned a lot and most importantly she has learned that she does enjoy working as a nurse and wants to pursue that as a career.  I'm so glad she got that experience.
Caitlyn took some college classes this year.  She took Math 1010, Biology, Art and Government. Her government teacher sent us this picture of the class and asked us to send young pictures of them for a slideshow she was doing. Caitlyn enjoyed her government class.  It was hard work, but she enjoyed it.
Caitlyn has become good friends with Jacqui this year.  They have been in Avid together and they have some other classes together.  They studied together and helped each other a lot.
Caitlyn went with her friend Makenna to the senior dinner dance.
Caitlyn and Mia.
She said it was fun and she was glad she went.  They both were ready to leave when the dance started.
Caitlyn got invited to the senior awards night.  She wasn't going to go because she had to work, but she decided last minute to go.  Cayden covered her shift so she could go.
Mrs. Thurston and Mrs. Hoffman presented Caitlyn with the AVID scholarship.  Caitlyn loves both of them.
She has had Mrs. Hoffman for an AVID teacher since 9th grade.
There were two $1000 AVID scholarships and Caitlyn got one of them!
They called up all of the seniors that were awarded scholarships from each of the different colleges.
We stayed for her to go up for SUU and the University of Utah.  The group from the U of U was pretty small.  After that Caitlyn wanted to go, it was running really long and she was worried about getting back to work.
We stopped and talked to Mrs. Hoffman on the way out.  I'm glad I got a picture of them. Caitlyn loves Mrs. Hoffman and she has been so good to Caitlyn.  She is one of those teachers who loves their students and goes above and beyond to help them be successful.  Mrs. Hoffman was telling us how much she loves Caitlyn.  Caitlyn said she got emotional on the last day of class because she has seen Mrs. Hoffman every day for the last four years.  I'm so grateful for good teachers!
They gave Caitlyn her cords that night. She got a cord for Summa Cum Laude, Avid and for taking concurrent enrollment classes.
We are sure proud of this girl and her hard work.  I think she has had a good taste of college with her concurrent enrollment classes.  They required a lot of homework and studying and she was willing to put in the work to be successful. I'm glad she got to be recognized for her hard work.
Sunday night was seminary graduation.
We were glad that grandma and grandpa came down for it.  I love Hallee photo bombing in the back ground.
President Gardner gave a really good talk about how spiritual experiences should change us and we should always "obtain a remembrance of them."  He talked about how each experience we have with the Spirit should change us for the better.  I've been thinking a lot about that since then.  He told the kids that he hoped seminary has changed them.  I know seminary has helped Caitlyn with her testimony and helped her strengthen her relationship with her Savior and I'm grateful for that.
Cayden came over for dinner and came to the graduation with us.

That sounds like a whole lot of hard work Caitlyn has put in, and I love that she was able to be recognized for it and earn scholarships. So cool!!
