Bboy Gravity

Wyatt was so excited that he got to attend a three day workshop with Bboy Gravity.  Bboy Gravity is on the first USA Olympic break dance team.  They will compete in the summer of 2024.  They were supposed to have break dancing for the first time in the summer games of 2020, but those were canceled because of Covid.
The camp was two hours a day for three days.  Wyatt loved it and said he learned a lot.
Deon was able to get Gravity to come because Tarzan mentored him and they are good friends. Deon arranged for a meet and greet Wednesday night for the kids from the studio.
I took Wyatt and I enjoyed listening to him talk to the kids.  I was impressed with him and how he focused on hard work and the inclusivity of the breakin community.
Wyatt brought one of his shirts for him to sign.
Deon printed up pictures of Gravity and let all the kids pick one to have him sign.  Wyatt came right home and hung up his picture and his shirt in his room.
Someone shared some videos of the camp with us so I was able to see Wyatt battling. I got a screen shot of the video so it's not the best quality, but it's pretty cool to see an Olympian cheering him on.
Here is the group at the end of camp.
Gravity has been working on a break dance curriculum and this was the first time he has taught it.
Friday night they had a battle and Gravity was one of the judges.
They had 2v2 battles for 15-years-old and under.  Wyatt and Walker made it to the top eight and then went out during that round.
Me and Hallee brought chairs and games and had fun watching the battle.  The battles usually take a long time so we were prepared for that, but this one was only a couple of hours.
After the battle they had the judges dance.  We were all excited to see Gravity dance and he did not disappoint.  His real name is Miguel Rosario. He grew up doing gymnastics and when he was sixteen he discovered breakin and wanted to do that instead.  His gymnast background definitely shows up in his breakin.
Before the battle we were able to get a picture of Wyatt with Bboy Gravity.  Wyatt loved the whole experience and was really sad to see it end.

I'll bet Wyatt did love it! Interesting that they're going to have breaking as part of the 2024 Olympics. Bboy Gravity sure looked like he knew what he was doing and I loved the picture of him cheering Wyatt on! I'm sure that was the highlight of Wyatt's summer!
