Friday and Saturday

On Friday morning we went down to the beach.  We saw Troy at the pool and he said that a lot of them were down at the beach and we should go join them.  We decided to walk down to the beach next to us instead.  Thank goodness we did because we could have really embarrassed ourselves in front of everyone.
We tried to snorkel, but the water was too choppy and not clear at all. We put our snorkel gear away and went out into the ocean and just floated around for a while. The waves starting getting bigger, but we were far enough out that it would just rock us back and forth. The problem came when we started walking back to the beach, we got pummeled by huge waves over and over.  The first wave took us both under and Keith had to scramble to hold onto his glasses.  After the big wave, we both tried to stand up and Keith tried to pull up his swimming suit that had been pulled down by the wave.  I was trying to get my swim shirt that had gone up to my shoulder back over my stomach when we were hit with another huge wave and both taken under again.  Poor Keith had to try and pull up his suit with one hand because he had to hold onto his glasses with his other hand.  Big wave after big wave kept coming so I'm sure we were quite the sight as we tried to make our way to shore.
When we finally made it back to the beach we were covered in sand and wanted to go to our room and shower and get cleaned up.  We had so much sand in our clothes and all over us.  I had to wash my hair three times to get all of the sand out and we both had sand in our ears.  The shower was covered in sand and so was the bath tub because we had to rinse out our clothes. We ate our lunch on the balcony that day and then relaxed and napped for a bit.
This is between the two beaches.  It's just beautiful everywhere.
We went to the lounge to get some food for dinner and then went down the beach and the pool for the evening. I loved going in the evenings because there weren't very many people there.  The beach was pretty crowded during the day.
It was really cloudy again so there wasn't much of a sunset.
We only put our feet in the water.  The waves had calmed down a lot, but we didn't want to chance going under again.
After that we went to our favorite spot in the pool.
This is our view from the cave where the hot tub is.
Saturday was our last full day at the resort. We made the most of it and got up early to walk and take in the morning views.
I love palm trees.
We heard that there were turtles on these rocks sometimes, but we never saw one.
I love the sound of waves crashing into rocks.
After our walk we went upstairs and got breakfast.
After breakfast we went down the beach and stayed there all day.  We were a little nervous about going in the water after our experience the day before, but we finally got in because we were getting hot and it felt great.  The waves were much smaller that day.
We went back and forth from our chairs to the ocean all day.  Keith got a quick nap.
We didn't have sack lunches that day and we didn't want to leave the beach so we didn't eat.  We had a dinner that night at 7 PM, but around 4 PM we were pretty hungry so we went up to the restaurant  by the pool and shared an order of fries. We were shocked by the prices again and so grateful that this was the first time  we had spent money on food at the resort.
After eating we went back to the beach to enjoy our last sunset at the resort.
I will never get tired of sunsets on the beach.
I love that each sunset is so different.
We took pictures and just soaked it all in.
Barkle was down there getting pictures of the sunset so he took a couple for us.
We stayed on the beach as long as we could before we had to rush upstairs to get ready for dinner.
Before dinner we took a group picture to send to Daniel to tell him thank you. He didn't end up coming because he had to many other things going on.
We enjoyed another yummy, fancy dinner. We tried a strawberry pina-colada this time and it was delicious.  They had pineapple crisp with ice cream for dessert, it was so good! The weather was perfect on Saturday.  It was warm and sunny and the perfect way to end our time at the resort.

Each of those pictures is frame-worthy! I want a strawberry pina colada.
