Thursday morning we started off with a big breakfast before we headed down to the beach. We would sit outside on the balcony when it was open so we could enjoy the view.
It was rainy on and off all day Thursday. We enjoyed the beach while the rain stopped. We decided to try out our snorkel gear.
Lori told us which ones they had and we ordered those.
We talked to some people that said you needed to go by the rocks to see more fish, so we went to the end of our beach where the rocks are. The problem is rocks hurt, so it took us a while to figure out where they were under the water so we could avoid hitting them.
It took us a while to get the hang of it. I was ready to quit after hitting a bunch of rocks and not being able to breath. We finally got it down though and then it was a lot of fun.
We didn't see a ton of fish, but it was fun to see some. Another day when we were in the ocean a sea turtle swam right by Keith, we were wishing we had our snorkel gear with us then.
The kids think this picture is hilarious. It's really hard to smile with the goggles on! We snorkeled one other day at the beach next to ours. The water was not clear at all that day and the waves were really big, so we didn't do it for long.
It was really rainy that afternoon so we got our lunch and went up to our room. We napped and then went to the lounge to get some food for dinner. The rain had stopped so we went down to the beach to watch the sunset.
They put the chairs away at 4 PM, so we took a towel down and just sat on that.
There is no better place to be than the beach at sunset.
I walked down into the ocean to put my feet in and get some more pictures and I laughed really hard when I turned around and saw Keith posing on the beach!
There are these naked statues all over the lobby, apparently they are by some famous artist. Keith and I laughed every time we saw them. I joked that I should pose in front of one and have Keith take a picture. I think Keith posing on the beach was a much better plan. People's idea of good art is funny sometimes.
We stayed on the beach for over an hour. I love that the sunset just kept changing and getting more and more beautiful.
I mean, come on, now the sky is just showing off!
It was so nice to have no schedule and be able to stay as long as we wanted.
We stayed down there until the sun was completely gone and then we went up to the pool and hot tub.

That sunset is gorgeous!! Seriously, having nothing to do and no schedule is one of the best parts of a Hawaiian vacation!
