The end of elementary school

I can't believe we are here, but we are finished with elementary school.  Hallee is moving on to middle school.  Last week we had her 6th grade graduation.  Lakeview Elementary has been a great school! The principals have been great and so have the teachers.  I'm so grateful our neighborhood school is so great.
They had us send in a younger picture of the kids and they took a picture of all of them in a Provo High cap and gown.  They talk to the kids a lot about going on to graduate from High School.  They also have the High School graduates that went to Lakeview walk through the school on their graduation day.
They announce each kid and they walk across the stage and get their certificate.
The PTA gave each of the kids a lion stuffed animal. They want them all to remember that they always belong at Lakeview! I love that they focus so much on belonging and growth mindset.
Trinity and Hallee have been in the same class since first grade.
They are really hoping they have classes together next year.
We are sure proud of Hallee and the kind, hard working, respectful student she has been.  Every teacher tells me that she is the dream student, she works hard, follows the rules and is kind to everyone. She is the best!
This memory came up on Facebook the day of her graduation. This was her last day of Kindergarten and I took a picture to remember her goodbye ritual.  She would sign I love you, make a heart and then blow me a kiss every day before she went into school. She still gave me a hug and said I love you when I took her to school in sixth grade. She is just so sweet.  I can't believe our baby is finished with elementary school.

Ballroom Performance

Wyatt had his second semester ballroom performance. He is in the intermediate class this semester. He has really enjoyed it and is excited to be on the team next year.
This class is more even with boys and girls so he only had to do each dance once.
I love watching him, he is so good.
He did the merengue, the cha cha, the waltz, the swing, the rumba, the samba and the tango.
Wyatt enjoys the class, but doesn't enjoy performing for us, ha!
I knew this was coming, so I had lots of time to stress! Actually, I didn't stress too much.  They have everyone go get their mom or dad and teach them to dance.  Wyatt worked on the cha cha again with me. Hopefully next time I will actually remember some of it!

Hallee's Recital

Hallee had her dance recital last weekend.  It's a very long weekend with a dress rehearsal and two performances, but she loved it. She has fun hanging out with her friends during the performances.
She did two dances.  She looks so grown up.
I get lots of pictures during the dress rehearsal because I can't use my flash during the performance.
I'm glad we had the dress rehearsal to realize that we were tying her wrap wrong. It kept slipping down so you could see her shorts.  We watched some videos and figured out what we were doing wrong so she didn't have any problems with it at the performance.
I got a couple of pictures at the performance with my phone, so they aren't as clear.
They danced to "Surfin' U.S.A."
She is so fun to watch. She has the best facial expressions and looks like she is having the best time up there!
The second song they danced to was "September."
She didn't like the costume, but I thought it looked so cute on her.
Hallee's teacher, Annie texted me and told me that she thought Hallee should try out for the competition team.  She said, " I love having Hallee in my class. She is seriously the glue for our class- I can always count on Hallee to remember the choreography and to be a leader. She listens well and works hard and it shows! The other girls look up to her and always look to her if they feel behind or lost in any way with the dances. She is kind and never brings drama. She is the greatest!"
Annie is worried that Hallee isn't getting pushed enough in her current dance class.  Laura also texted me and said that Adria, the competition teacher, wanted her to reach out and ask Hallee to try out.  I talked to Hallee about it and she debated, but decided against trying out. She doesn't want to make that time commitment and she loves Annie and wants to stay in her class.
Hallee is taking dance in middle school next year, so she thinks between that and her dance class, that will be enough for her.
Hallee said she was very glad she wasn't singing this year. She wasn't nervous at all, just excited.  I do miss hearing her sing, but I totally understand why she doesn't want to.
They did group pictures after the dress rehearsal.
Keith and I went to both shows on Saturday.  She did great in both of them!
They do a slideshow of all the dancers at the end while they all take a bow.
Hallee sure is a beautiful girl!
Hallee was so excited when we told her we were getting Cafe Rio after the show.  It's been a long time since we have been there and Hallee loves it!  We had some gift cards that we have been saving and it was the perfect night to use them!

Lacrosse Pictures

Jonah finished his first Lacrosse season.  He enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Lacrosse is a tough sport with rules that still confuse me.  Jonah had a giant bruise on his right forearm all season, he got hit on it every game so it never went away.
Jonah had an awesome goal from far away.  He was really good at assisting, he could get it to the open player quickly so they could take a shot.
Jonah pulled a muscle under his ribs from the throwing motion. He was in a lot of pain, but didn't want to sit out to rest it.
He rested it during Spring Break and then he finally started to feel better.
Jonah is fast!
He can run ahead of people or catch up to people on defense.
Jonah played great defense!
Jonah gave it his all every game.
It was a rough season for Provo. They won three games.  Last season they only won two games so they are improving.
Jonah kept a pretty good attitude through out the season, but he got tired of losing.
The last game of the regular season was exciting.
They played Timpanogos and they had lost to them pretty bad earlier in the season, but this time Provo won by one point.  It was a great end to the season.
They lost in the first round of the playoffs.
My parents came and watched the play off game.  I loved seeing dad help mom down the bleachers.  They are so cute!
Jonah put in a lot of hard work this season and it showed.  We loved watching him!
