June Happenings

I've been worried about summer and keeping the kids entertained. I've been very pleasantly surprised with how well they have done finding things to do. I love when they find things to do together!  I love to hear the ukuleles playing in the house.
Hallee has been working on roller blading. I had fun joining her one day. I think she was surprised and impressed with my roller blading skills!
Paul took Wyatt and Rockwell to the car show. They both loved the cyber truck.
Keith and Hallee went to the temple together. Keith said it was so hard to keep his eyes open with the bright sun.
Hallee loves to do baptisms for the dead.
Hallee has gone on some hikes with the young women. She enjoyed the Big Springs hike.
She also enjoyed the donut falls hike.
Erin is so nice to take these girls every week to prepare them for camp.
They are also trying to go to different temples.  They went to the Draper temple before the donut falls hike.
Wyatt and his friends had fun riding the bus from Orem to Provo and getting off at different stops.
Hallee got to bake with Lindy again.  She loved it!
Wyatt was on a car cleaning kick for a while.  He cleaned both of our cars on the inside, they looked so good!  He offered to wash Lindy's van.  I hope this obsession sticks around! You can see Hallee roller blading in the back ground.  She does it in the morning and the evening to beat the heat.
I have been trying to walk early so the heat isn't unbearable.
I went to the trail by Utah Lake.  I miss this part of the trail, they are working on the middle of the trail, so you can't walk all the way to the Lake.  It was nice to walk on this part of the trail again.
Utah sure is beautiful.  Look at those three horses lined up.
I started a job at BYU.  I go in Tuesday and Thursday evening and count inventory.  It feels like the most random job, but I got my first paycheck today, so it’s legit, ha! We counted candy in the bookstore my first night.  We have to put sticky notes on everything we counted and they were still there the next day when Hallee and I were there.  Hallee immediately recognized my handwriting.
I had to go in during the day to get my id.  They gave me a $5 gift card to the bookstore for my birthday so I took Hallee in and let her pick out candy.  It was a fun outing for us.  She picked out some candy for Wyatt too.
The sky was gorgeous when I came out of work one night.
I like the job and the people I work with are really nice.  It is a lot of work though, a lot of bending, squatting and lifting.  It's not too bad as long as I don't over do it during the day, but by the time 10 o'clock rolls around I'm so tired.  I'm planning on doing both jobs for now. It may be a little hard to do both because I will be up late for one and need to be up early for the other one.  I will see how it goes.  Last night we had to count in the warehouse and it was so hot, like I was feeling sick hot and I could ring out my hair from my sweat hot.  I am usually hot at work, but not like that.  My favorite is when I get to count drinks because then I'm in the fridge! We are still hoping and praying that the right job comes along for Keith soon.  It's getting harder and harder for both of us to be positive and patient.
Caitlyn went to Alaska to visit Anna.  She had a great trip.  She brought me and Hallee back shirts, the boys license plates and Keith a hat. I need to get her to post about her trip. It looked amazing and was such a cool experience for her.
Jonah voted! We just had the Republican primary and they sent Jonah a ballot. I guess since he will be old enough to vote in the general election in November, they also let him vote in the primary. It is crazy to me that he is old enough for that.  I'm proud of Jonah, he took time to look up the candidates and decide who to vote for.
Wyatt got sun burned when he went to Splash Summit with Dallin and again when he went to Salem Pond with Eddie. Caitlyn swears by aloe for sunburns so she talked him into putting it on when she got home from work. She even helped him, ha!
Keith took Hallee and Wyatt to see Inside Out 2 on $5 Tuesday with his birthday money.

Swimming

Paul had his annual pool party.  I was happy I could go this year.  My kids were so excited for it!
The Lindon pool is really fun.  It has been so hot, so the water felt great. Keith and I had fun visiting with Katie and Ben in the pool.
We got free pizza, soda and shaved ice!  It was amazing.
Wyatt was so excited for the flow rider.  He had so much fun going on it over and over with Rockwell.
It was so pretty with the sun setting.
We had fun watching Wyatt.
He would flip over and land back on the board on his stomach, it was fun to watch.
Last week we went swimming at Katie's.
It was so fun.  The water was perfect and we all loved it.
Mel and Ataiya came too. I loved holding Clara.  She fell asleep on me, it was so fun.  She is such a happy, fun baby.  She just smiles and laughs and loves everything and everyone.
I loved swimming.  It has been so hot, so it was great to be outside, but not dying of heat.

Birthdays and Father's Day

Wyatt wanted to treat Keith to a soda for his birthday.  He ended up buying one for Hallee and I too.
We have some Costa Vida gift cards, so we took Keith to lunch for his birthday. Caitlyn was in Alaska and Jonah was at work, so it was just the four of us.  I had to start work that night so Hallee and Wyatt made sure Keith had a fun evening.
Tiff and Paul had us over for dinner the day after his birthday.  Dinner was so good and they had a cake for Keith.  That was so thoughtful of them.
We all loved going over for dinner.  The kids had fun riding their scooters to the park, even though it was crazy hot!
The boys enjoyed the hot tub.  Jonah came over too and we loved having him there.
For Father's Day I made Keith a really yummy potato soup and rice crispy treats for dessert.
Mom and dad came over for a bit. It was fun to visit with them.
Lindy came over too. She went to a farewell with Caitlyn that day and stayed over after.  Caitlyn has been going to church with Lindy this summer and she loves it.
We recreated this picture from Father's Day ten years ago.
It turned out pretty good.  These kids are blessed to have Keith as a father.  He loves them so much and gives them so much love, support and guidance.
Caitlyn got off work early a few days before my birthday so she made me this delicious strawberry shortcake.  It tasted as good as it looked! She was waiting up for me when I got home from work and it was a great to have something to eat because I'm always hungry when I get home.
I'm so glad that Caitlyn gave me the cake early because Kristin sent me donuts on my birthday and Lisa brought over all of these homemade treats.  She texted Keith and asked what my favorite things are and she made them all!  She said she has missed some birthdays so she did extra. We used to go to lunch for our birthdays when we were in young women's together.  They were all so good! It was so nice to have so many people reach out and remember me on my birthday.
Keith and I drove up to Bridal Veil Falls on my birthday.
We got a late start so it was really hot so we didn't stay too long.  We enjoyed walking along the trail for a bit.
The river is so high and fast right now.  I love the sound of rushing water.  After that we went to Ross to try and find some work clothes for me.  I interviewed for two jobs at UVU that week and I got the one I wanted. It is a part time office administration job in the finance office. I interviewed with two people, one would be my supervisor and one would be my boss and I really liked both of them. They seemed fine with the fact that I haven't worked for a long time and catered the interview to my situation.  I was a little worried when they asked for a situation and I brought up Zion's bank and how the loans came in on the fax machine, they lady laughed and looked at the guy (who is pretty young) and asked if he knew what that was.  Dena called me and offered me the job and said they both really liked me and I was their top candidate.  I'm nervous and hope I can pick it up quickly, but I think it will be a good fit.  I start July 8th and I'll work Mon-Fri 8AM-1PM.
Keith planned a barbecue for my birthday dinner.  It was so good! Wyatt and Keith helped our neighbor with a tree that blew over in his yard and he sent them home with 6lbs of really good ground beef.  Keith and Wyatt grilled up some hamburgers with that and it was so good! Food is so expensive right now, so getting that for free was such a blessing. It was the perfect end to a great birthday!
