I had the sad thought a few days before Christmas that Jonah will probably be on his mission next Christmas. This may be our last Christmas with just our little family. I tried not to dwell on that and just enjoy Christmas.
We all slept in. Hallee and Wyatt were up earlier than the rest of us, but Keith played games with them until I woke up and then we woke Caitlyn and Jonah up.
All of the presents were wrapped so the kids looked through their stockings before they got any presents.
Keith surprised me and had a stocking for me.
The kids told us that they had a gift for us that they wanted us to open first. We were surprised and confused when we opened the envelope and found three gift cards and a big stack of cash. $100 in one dollar bills, ha!
Jonah told us that Trent Beesley sent him $200 on venmo. He sent a note that said, "Hey buddy, this is to do something for your mom and dad for Christmas to show them what a great job they are doing as parents. Love you guys!" Trent called Keith the week before and told him that we have been on his mind and he wanted to make sure we were okay for Christmas. Keith told him that we were fine and the kids were taken care of. It is so special to feel seen and remembered by a loving Heavenly Father through other people. I'm amazed by how thoughtful and generous people are.
We sure feel loved and very blessed. This has been such a hard year, but it has also been a year where Heavenly Father has shown us that we are not forgotten and people are so good!
Hallee gave me some lotion and room spray and wrote Keith and I very sweet cards.
After that the kids were ready to open presents.
We go one at a time so I can watch everyone.
I love seeing their happy faces when they open their present.
Jonah thought my joke was pretty funny. We had to replace the battery in his car on Christmas Eve so I wrapped up the receipt for the battery for Jonah.
Wyatt was excited to get new ear buds since his Airpods were stolen.
Caitlyn wanted clothes.
Jonah wanted clothes too.
He also wanted a trimmer.
Our budget was a little tighter than normal so I was worried that Christmas morning wouldn't be very exciting.
I didn't have any big surprises for the kids, but Hallee was still so excited to get what she asked for.
Hallee is always the easiest to shop for. She has the most ideas.
It was fun to see her so excited about everything.
Caitlyn was very surprised and happy with the free tank of gas gift we gave her!
Caitlyn always gives me some good reactions!
She was excited with her new sweatshirts.
Wyatt wanted some bey blades.
He wanted some bracelets.
He forgot he asked for this blanket.
He was pretty happy with his Jackson blanket.
He was excited about his new shoes. He has been needing these for a while.
I had one surprise for Jonah that I was pretty sure he would love.
He was very happy with his Lions shirt.
He was also surprised and happy to get a tank of gas! He said he is going to wait until his car is on empty to redeem that, ha!
Hallee really wanted these pajamas and put them right on when she got them.
We have been looking for a sweatshirt for Hallee for months. She is very particular so she hasn't found one she wants. She was thrilled that she got one that she likes and it fits her just right.
She got a couple of new shirts that she needed too.
Wyatt and Hallee have had fun painting so I got them some paint and canvases.
I had a big surprise for Caitlyn.
She was thrilled to open a countertop ice maker! She hates using the ice trays at school.
I won it at Paul's movie night and I knew it would be the perfect present for Caitlyn.
Keith was excited that I got him some new headphones since only one of his works. Christmas morning was a success!
