On Monday I finally slept in a bit. I was so tired after so many early mornings.
After breakfast we all went down and went for a walk.
It was overcast and a little chilly all day.
The best part about being on vacation is that you get to move slow and not be in a rush.
Hallee found a crab on the beach.
Monday was Alisha's birthday. Lori and the girls decorated everything so cute.
We went to La Curva for an early dinner.
The food is so good and the prices are really good too.
Matt and Lori ordered three fried ice creams for Alisha's birthday for all of us to split.
After that we went into town to look at the shops. We have never looked at the shops before so we wanted to check them out. They were very over priced so we didn't get much.
Wyatt was very happy with his poncho purchase.
They call this Rodeo Drive.
That night Keith, Caitlyn and I walked on the beach. It was so pretty.
On Tuesday morning I woke up early so I went down to the beach. I stayed down there all day. I would read a little, nap a little, but mostly just sit there and stare at the ocean. It's so peaceful.
The kids would come and swim in the ocean for a bit and then go up to the pool or hot tub. This day they played in the sand too.
That night we went to Wrecked at the Reef.
It was cold and windy and the tide was out so it wasn't the usual pretty view.
The kids had fun playing cornhole.
The food was great and it was fun to get out.
This group is so fun. We all had so much fun together.
Wyatt was happy to pose for Matt.
I'm so glad we got to go back to Rocky Point together, I just wish Jonah could have been there.
Caitlyn loved having Alisha there too.
We had fun playing games every night.
On Wednesday, I went down to the beach first thing again. Matt came down and joined me. It was fun to have some time to talk to him.
The kids had fun in the ocean.
I stayed down on the beach all day and soaked up my last day of beach time.
We all went for a walk that afternoon.
It was fun to all be together.
I love going for walks on the beach.
We went up to the hot tub for sunset. It was a cloudy night, but it's still beautiful.
The kids all took turns going up to shower and us adults stayed down in the hot tub. Matt got out to throw something away and he slipped and landed hard on his back. He was pretty pale and dizzy. I felt so bad for him. He sat down there for a while and then Cody and Keith helped him upstairs. He said he was okay when he sat, but he had a sharp pain when he stood or moved. Keith and Cody gave him a blessing and he rested the rest of the night. It took some time for him to heal, but he feeling better now.
That night was New Years Eve. Lori had fun activities and games planned.
The kids love blowing out the candles for prizes.
They had to stay in their square during this game.
They were trying to scoop up bows and money during this game.
They had to put a candy cane in their mouth and use that candy cane to pick up as many candy canes as they could.
Lori always makes everything so fun.
We had to drive the whole way home the next morning so we could be back to work on January 2nd. Keith went to bed early.
I went to bed as soon as we got the kids all set up after midnight. We got up early the next morning and left at 7 AM. We didn't want to leave until there was daylight. It was a very long drive. Keith was a champ and drove the whole way home. There was a lot of rain and that made the drive a little scary. I'm so grateful we got to go on this fun vacation. Matt and Lori are always so generous and good to us and we appreciate it so much.
