This weekend we were in desperate need of some family time. Keith has been so busy with school and work lately that we haven't had a lot of time together. This past week was especially hard. Friday he had to go into work for a couple of hours and then we spent the rest of the day together at home. It was so nice to just relax and have unstructured time together.
Saturday the kids were begging to go sledding. Every time it has snowed in the last few weeks I keep thinking we should go because it will be our last chance, but it just keeps snowing. We headed out after lunch. There wasn't a ton of snow, but there was enough.
Caitlyn and Jonah had a blast. It was a really wet snow, so we all got soaked.
This was the first time we took Wyatt out with us. He wasn't all that impressed. I think he would have been fine if it wasn't snowing while we were out. He didn't like when the snowflakes hit his face.
As long as we kept his binky in he was fine. I just pulled him around in his sled. I have to get me some new snow boots. Mine are so slippery and with the wet snow and grass I fell twice. I fell going up the hill and going down, so I was able to get covered in snow and mud on the front and back! Luckily no one else was there because that would have been embarrassing.
I say this all the time but I love watching Caitlyn and Jonah play together. They always have so much fun. After we finished sledding they headed to the play ground and played there for a while.
Keith and I went down a few times, but the kids wanted to do it by themselves yesterday.
Caitlyn was so nervous to sled this year, but now she loves it. I'm still surprised that she will go down such big hills.
Jonah flipped off his sled at one point and did a backwards somersault. Luckily he was laughing and thought it was "awesome."
The kids were so wet when they finally came back to the car that I had to literally wring their clothes out. That didn't stop them from having fun and they thought it was pretty funny to ride home in their underwear!
Near the end Wyatt starting having more fun. He enjoyed it for a little while and then I took him back to the car to stay warm while we watched the kids have fun. Hopefully this will be our last sledding trip of the season! We are ready for some warm weather.
