The Swimming Pool

We were all excited to use Matt and Lori's pool.  It was so great because it was always the perfect temperature.  You didn't have to get used to the water at all.  I've decided that I could live in Arizona if I had a pool.  I get so hot and once I get hot I have a hard time cooling down, but all it takes is a dip in the pool and you feel great.
Caitlyn and Jonah loved it.  I was a little nervous because there isn't really a shallow end.  Lori showed them how to swim from the stairs to the wall and I was nervous about turning them lose.
Caitlyn has always been great in the water, but I was still surprised at how easily she could swim around the pool.  She could swim from side to side and did great at dog paddling.
I tried to get Jonah to wear floaties, but he wanted nothing to do with it.  He has really improved this summer with his swimming, but I didn't think he was quite ready for the big pool.  He really amazed me.  He did great, it only took a few minutes and he was swimming all over the pool.  They did so well that I was able to relax and enjoy the water and not stress about standing next to them the whole time.
They loved sliding off the slide into the pool.
Of course Jonah is always a fan of jumping!
They loved having uncle Matt and Dad throw them into the water.
Each time they would say, "throw me higher than anyone!"
They loved jumping off the rocks.  It was so fun to watch them play together.  In the pool they were busy playing make believe and the favorite was playing with empty milk jugs. Caitlyn and Elena spent their time playing mermaids.
I love this picture.  They are all so fearless in the water.  It was so fun to watch them have so much fun together.
Wyatt had fun in the pool.  I think he was very happy with how warm it was.
We got him to go in the floaty a couple of times, but most of the time he just wanted us to hold him.
He really liked getting out of the pool and standing at the slide.
He liked to be free to eat rocks and crawl around.  Luckily he learned pretty quickly that the rocks don't taste very good.
Love this kid.  He slept a lot better than I thought he would.  I kept him in the room with me and Keith and I was surprised how well he did.  He slept good, but every morning at 6:30 AM on the dot he would wake up and laugh and stand in the port-a-crib and try and get my attention.  It gets dark so early there and light so early.  It felt like midnight at 9:00 PM.
He had fun with all the attention that everyone gave him.  All the kids were great with him and had fun making him laugh.  Matt and Lori were great with him as usual.
Keith had to take his finals while we were down there.  I felt bad he was missing out, but that week worked out best for us to take the trip and it actually ended up working out well because me and the kids were busy and out of his hair.  He spent about two days working on school work and the rest of the time playing with us.  Lori and I got in a routine in the morning where we would switch off exercising.  It was just a little bit of heaven to go outside and swim every morning.  They have an endless pool so I would borrow Matt's swimp3 player and head out and swim in the endless pool.  It felt so good.  Thank goodness I did that because Lori made us so much yummy food that I stuffed myself every day.
