3 Years Old!

I can't believe this cute boy will be 3-years-old tomorrow.  He has grown up so fast and sometimes he seems a lot older than his age and other times I can't believe he is so old.
He has such a fun personality.  He is very social and loves to interact with people.  He is constantly saying funny things that make us all laugh.  He loves to quote movies and tell jokes.
Wyatt is such a smarty pants.  I am constantly amazed by how much he knows.  He knows all of his letters, numbers, shapes and colors.  He has a very good memory.  He will tell me things that I am shocked he remembers.  He also memorizes songs.  He is always singing along to the radio in the car.  He loves music.
He loves to play outside and ride his scooter and bike.  He also likes swimming and jumping on the trampoline.  All the neighbors comment on how cute he is outside in his rain boots.  He always has his rain boots on.
Wyatt loves to play board games.  He loves to go in the game closet and bring out different games for us to play.  He also loves anything electronic.  He is constantly asking to play on the IPAD or playing on their little computers.
Wyatt loves nursery.  He has a favorite teacher and he gets so excited when he sees her.  I was surprised last week when he could tell me about his lesson.  Wyatt calls everyone his friend.  He will usually call them, "that red friend" if they have a red shirt on.  It is a little awkward when he refers to people as "that black friend" because they are wearing a black shirt!
Wyatt is very independent and wants to do everything on his own.  This is very hard because a lot of what he wants to do he isn't capable of yet.  He wants to do everything that Caitlyn and Jonah are doing.  I only wish he wanted to use the potty!  He has a really bad stubborn streak. There is no talking to him when he has made up his mind on something.  He has to decide on his own to do something, you can't talk him into it.
We sure love this kid.  He keeps us laughing all of the time.  He knows how to get to me, he asks for things in the sweetest voice and flashes his smile and I have such a hard time saying no to him.  We are so grateful he is a part of our family.  Happy Birthday Wyatt!

The Canyon

Last night we went with some friends to the canyon.  It was a lot of fun.
My kids were not happy that I made them stop for some pictures.
Give Jonah a stick and he is a happy boy.  We went to a great picnic site.  It was right next to a play ground and it had plenty of great places for the kids to play.
Caitlyn got braces on top yesterday so she wouldn't show them when she smiled.
They found a cave and Jonah told everyone there was a bear in there.  Wyatt was a little nervous until he saw that there wasn't a bear.  Jonah loves to tell stories.  He told his primary teachers that someone in our family got hit by a car and that is why we weren't at church (we were at my mom's church). I asked him why and he said he couldn't remember where we were so he just told them that.  It was nice to hear his other primary teacher tell me how wonderful and reverent he was last week. His fun, energetic personality gets him into trouble sometimes, but he is a good kid!
Hallee was really happy while she was eating up there!
We put sandals on her so she could walk around and she hated them.  She was so mad and wanted them off.
She has been pretty grouchy since her one-year-old shots the other day.  Poor girl!
The kids had a blast exploring with their friends.
Jonah was really happy to play with Ethan again.  He has missed him since they moved.
Wyatt couldn't wait for s'mores.  He took one bite and told me he didn't want it because it was too sticky. The rest of us enjoyed s'mores, except for Caitlyn, she is having a hard time eating since she got her braces on.
It was a really fun night.  It was great to catch up with good friends and let the kids play.  It was also so much cooler up there and it felt great!  Hallee rode in the car without her infant seat for the first time yesterday.  I think she liked it.  She is getting so big!

The after party

After everyone went home I put Hallee down for a nap and Keith and I went outside and played with the kids.  Wyatt thought it was so funny to throw water balloons at Keith.
I told Wyatt I wanted to play with him and he kept saying, "no, you can play by yourself."  I finally talked him into playing with me and I think he had fun!
It was such a hot day. I was happy to get in the pool with him.
He had fun splashing me and jumping on the trampoline with dad.
Dante and Alexys stayed to play.  Jonah and Dante had fun filling water balloons.
They got Keith a few times which started a water fight.
The boys loved having Keith play with them.
After that Wyatt had fun playing with his new gas station.
My parents gave Wyatt this car set.  He loves it.  He spent most of the day on Sunday playing with it.
We must have wore Wyatt out because he fell asleep on the floor.  My kids never do that!
I got the boys some new shirts and Wyatt and Jonah thought it was so cool that they had the same shirt!

Hallee's Party

The party was for Hallee and Wyatt, but of course Wyatt was a little more excited about it.  Hallee slept through the first half of it which worked out great so we could focus on Wyatt a little more.  When she woke up we let her open her presents.  At first she just kept throwing them off the chair, but finally she opened them.
She loves stuffed animals right now so she was excited to open one and give it a kiss.
She got lots of fun presents!
I was excited for cake time.  I thought she would do the same thing she did a few days ago and I wanted everyone to see it.
She had a different idea.  She was a little cranky so she just kept screaming and digging her hands into the cake.  She just sat there with her hands in the cake for a while.
She ate some of it, but she pretty much just made a mess with her hands.  I tried to lift the cake so she could bite it and she screamed at me and grabbed the cake and wouldn't let go.  This girl is feisty I tell ya!
After cake Hallee played at the water table a little.  I think first birthdays are a little overwhelming for the kids so I tried to keep it really low key for Hallee and just let her do her own thing.  Tessa and Hallee always like to smile at each other!  I think Hallee's first birthday was definitely a success!

You can come to my party

Wyatt has been talking about his birthday party for months now.  He would tell me who he wanted there and what he wanted to do and he would invite anyone he talked to.  He invited Caitlyn's orthodontist, the lady next door and anyone else who would listen.  He told me he wanted fireworks, water balloons, a shot put and bubbles.  I was going to do a party with a few of his friends, but none of his friends could come on the day we wanted to do it so we did a big cousins party instead.  Wyatt loved this robot that we gave him.  He plays with it all the time.
He loves opening presents. I love to wrap up everything because the kids love unwrapping!
He got so many fun presents and he was so excited about each one of them.
We had a yummy barbecue lunch.  Wyatt was so excited to have Rockwell here.  These two are so cute.  I love watching them talk to each other.
Wyatt loved having all of his cousins there.  He loves all of the attention that they give him.
We set up the little pool and did sprinklers under the trampoline.
Going down the slide into the pool was a big hit for Wyatt and Rockwell.
He loved playing with his new bubble machine.  Luckily Paul got it up and running for him while Keith and I were getting lunch ready.
Mel made Wyatt such a cute cake.
Wyatt was very excited to have "fire" on his cake.  It was such a fun way to celebrate Wyatt's birthday.  He had so much fun.

The Cake!

One of my favorite things about first birthdays is watching them eat the cake.  After Hallee's photo shoot we decided we might as well let her eat the cake even though she would have another one at her party in a couple of days.  I'm so glad we did, it was so funny! At first she wasn't sure what to do.  She just started poking the cake.
She stuck her whole hand in and then started crying because she couldn't get the cake off her hands.
Finally she realized she should lick it off.  She also realized it tasted really good!
She kept trying to stick her face in the cake.  It was the funniest thing to watch.  Finally Keith just held the cake up for her so she could take a bite and that is all it took.  She ate the rest of the cake like this. I like how she is looking at us at first wondering if this is okay!
She ate a pretty big piece of the cake by taking bites out of it.  At one point I asked her if she was all done and she shook her head and took another bite.
I love the messy smile.
The rest of the kids would go play and then come back and watch her, but Keith and I sat there and watched her for a good thirty minutes.  It was so fun.
She is our first one to bite the cake.  I caught her trying to eat her food like this the other day too.  I guess her hands just slow her down!
She was one messy girl when she was finished.  Frosting everywhere, including up her nose.  So fun!
