I have been spending a lot of time with Katie, Tiff and Audrey over the last week. Last Friday we stayed at a hotel, Saturday they all came over here, Monday we spent the day together with all of our kids and Monday night we went to dinner for a little girls night. Last night we did a late night run to Leatherby's at the last minute. We always stay out late and just talk. Keith asked me what we talked about and asked if we were getting sick of each other. I know I'm not getting sick of them!
On Monday we spent the day downtown. It was crazy! After thirty minutes of getting car seats into two vans we headed downtown. I had the bright idea of leaving my stroller home because I knew we would take the train at some point and I didn't want to mess with it. It would have made my life so much easier if I would have brought it.
We started out at the Church History Museum. The kids all had fun, but it got really crowded so it was hard to keep track of all of them, especially the little ones.
It is a fun place and the kids all had a great time.
After that we walked through Temple Square to get over to City Creek for lunch. The kids all loved looking at the water. Rockwell isn't in the picture because he fell in the water. He handled it great though and didn't complain about his wet shoes! Hallee kept switching between wanting to walk and wanting me to carry her. I still can't believe I didn't bring my stroller, we did a lot of walking that day.
We made it over to the food court at City Creek and it was packed! We got our food and found a good spot where we could all sit together. Tiff and I scarfed down our lunch and then walked over to move our cars because we were in two-hour parking. That took a while and I was so hot by the time we got back!
Katie and Audrey stayed with all of the kids and let them play in the play land there at the mall. Apparently some little girl photo bombed this picture!
I love this picture and I love these boys! They are hilarious. I love how well they get along with each other and how excited they are to play together.
We had planned to take the train over to the Planetarium, but at this point we are all exhausted and we decided to just let them play in the playland instead. The kids were all excited to ride the train though, so we just rode it around the free zone. That was quite an adventure. Four moms trying to get ten kids and two strollers on the train. When we were getting on we realized that all of the kids were on and none of the mom's were on so one of us ran on while the other three got the strollers on. I felt bad for the people that we sat by. I'm sure it was overwhelming for our group to come and surround them. They were all really nice though.
When we got off the train and were waiting for the train to get back to the car the kids were all going crazy. They were grabbing the pay phone and running all over the place. Katie, who is always calm and amazing with kids, got them all to play Simon Says. Right before the train got there Wyatt panicked and said he had to go to the bathroom. I told him to just hurry and pee by a tree before the train got there. There was a spot he could pee down a grate so no one would step on it or anything. Just as he is about to do his business three cops ride by on bikes. I told him to hurry and "put it away." After they rode by I told him to hurry and go because the train was coming. It was too much stress and pressure for him and he ended up having to hold it.
The second time we got on the train went a lot smoother. We had learned a thing or two from the last stop! We rode that back to Temple Square and Katie took the kids that needed to go to the bathroom to the museum while the rest of us went to get the cars. When I picked Katie and the kids up Katie told me that Wyatt had pooped his pants. I was so done at this point. It wasn't just poop, it was nasty diarrhea. It was one of those moments that you are completely overwhelmed and don't know where to start. I finally got him cleaned up and we were on our way home. It was such a fun day, but it was a lot of work!
